Rolston clearly has his work cut out from him if he wants to salvage any part of this season.

Didn't expect much else. Disappointing none the less.
I think once the shock of Ruff wears off and Rolston has some time with them, they'll slowly make their way up to a below average team, instead of absolute bottom feeder.

Do you honestly feel this will happen, or are you just being hopeful?
What I got from today's posts is mostly that Darcy's roster is bad, which means he's a goner. I then see little chance of a new GM choosing Rolston anyways, which makes it all moot. Just a season in the toilet, and a rebuild.

The Good: Zeppelin IV getting some decent airplay before face-offs all night
The Bad: Stafford watching the Gerbe/Phanneuf incident, wanting no part of Dion and realizing that the the pint-sized Gerbe has attachments 6 times larger than Stafford's.
The Ugly: JVR quite literally skating circles around the Sabres, while the Leafs were short-handed no less, and then taking the puck to the net.
Actually, I loved that and good for JVR. He's a hell of a hockey player. Wish we had a few like that.

Thank you. This was part of why I didn't get the timing of firing Ruff. You can't remove half the tumor, and expect it to get better. They should have done it before or after the season for BOTH of them. Rolston has like a 1% chance of mixing up some voodoo powder, and fixing this team. Bad decision, and I'll stand by that opinion even if half the posters disagree with me.

Too early to start scoreboard watching but Buffalo got some help in regards to draft position tonight.
On one hand Washington continuing to suck is a good thing because they're feeding points to the rest of the conference and you EXPECT them to turn it around. But on the other hand George McPhee is one of the worst GMs in the league and only knows how to tank to build a team. I could easily see him trying to tank the team on purpose much the way he did to get Backstrom where he refused to sign anyone to help that team.
