Just remember... We have 0 long term bad contracts on the books right now. Every team has a contract or two that is undesirable at some point. Palat doesn't make or break this teams long term future

I'd be fine with 5.5 or under but I'm expecting over at this point cause that's what's guaranteed to set this place off. Hell I don't think people would even love anything over 5 but people are too scared of the cap at times.What is the AAV? Has that been confirmed yet?

Even on a 3 year deal, he would probably be rough in the 3rd year. The two extra years tacked on are painful. Could easily see him being our next Johnsson as early as this year.
f***ing brutal. 5 years for a 31 year old. Should’ve just did nothing.

Nobody said winning veterans. Bigger sure, but that’s not really Palat so it doesn’t even do that. You could go get any number of veterans at much cheaper prices to fill the experience role (as we did with Boyle and Simmonds).
Yes you shouldn’t be going 5 years on a 31 year old average top 6 player. It’s f***ing stupid.

Honestly there is no (realistic) AAV where this can be good. This is a bad contract at $4mm AAV
