And I do actually think if we had a better 2C when Larkin was the 1C and only one of Copp or Compher, we'd really appreciate either one of them more. We dislike the pair as overpaid and worthless because they're low end 2Cs and optimally really good 3Cs or 2Ws... and if we only had one of them and instead replaced the other with... prime Val Filppula or somethingwe'd like them a lot more.

Absolutely. My gripe with adding both was the redundancy. In hindsight, Copp has been a significantly more useful player. But I think you're right in guessing that it could have worked out well if either of them were the 3C and Detroit had a legit 2C in front of them while Larkin was here.

How about Larkin and Gibson, both never won cup . We are all talking about Cat if he likes to stay, Gibson probably the one who should ask for trade.
