Weekes: Weekes stirring up Pittsburgh rumors?

I am a Penguins fan. It would suck to see Crosby on another team, but then at least I might have a reason to watch him play. Right now the Penguins are basically unwatchable. They are dreadful and really depressing.

If Crosby cared about the Pens, he would say listen, I prefer to stay but these are the teams I would waive for. See what you can get for me so it helps the Pens with an accelerated rebuild.

The chances Dubas can retool this on the fly is low IMO

Until someone with actual credibility reports differently, it’s all just idle speculation based on nothing

It is speculation and pondering thoughts (clearly). I don't know how else you would comprehend it?

I see two options here:
1) Pens improve this offseason and they become a playoff team again. Crosby stays
or
2) Pens don't improve and and they are not a playoff team. More pressure is on the Pens and Crosby and both agree it's time for a change.

I don't see it playing out like option 3...
3) Pens don't improve and they keep missing the playoffs where Crosby is OK with it and stays. He's way to competitive to be OK with losing for 4 years in a row. It's been 2 years in a row now
Option 4: Dubas does nothing so his "legacy" isn't tainted by whatever returns he gets for crosby. The entire fanbase and team will be held hostage until Crosby decides to retire.

You’re right that it won’t go away. But it should go away. Because the speculative commentary is low iq nonsense.

If I was a Pens fans, I'd stay away from commenting and fueling the fire. You can't control it so ignore it. However, to be honest, Id probably get sensitive about it being talked about over and over again as well.

There is no way Crosby would say, yeah I want to keep playing a couple more years and if the Pens don’t turn things around I am gone.
Which is why you also look at his actions, as well as the words and actions of those closest to him, and the career of his mentor who played for the same org.

Sometimes you have to let people know when they’re being morons. If you’re going to say stupid shit, expect to get called out on it.

Held hostage? This franchise owes everything to him.

Be careful with your words of choice in any debate or frustration. A lot of us fall into that trap and the young gullible fans out there, think they are allowed to say it as well. It's a horrible online chatting culture

Low IQ conversation where people think they can have uninformed opinions that are just as valid as well thought out opinions based on fact are toxic and moronic. What’s wrong with calling it out?

Even if they trade Crosby, Malkin, and EK they arent getting core pieces in return.

EK and rigsby have 2 full yrs, malkin has one full yr

There looks like prospects+ picks trades but the picks are top 10 protected and the prospects arent recent top 10 picks.

A team might send salary back of a vet but that lessens the youth portion

I am a Pens fan. I think the Pens would benefit if they got assets for Sid. He will always be a Penguin no matter what, could always sign a final year, etc. if it happens it does not taint Sid or the Pens in anyway imo.

Implying Crosby doesn’t care about the Pens 20 years into his career is unbridled stupidity. He’s given them tens of millions in discounts. I’d rather watch him retire in Pittsburgh than any other scenario. If I get tired of losing, I’ll watch his highlights.

Stop saying dumb shit like “if Crosby cared about the Pens”

i can't stand weeks with his "idea" of breaking something just by posting a picture of the city and offering zero context.
