You cant fix this team with one TDL... There is not enough material left to make quality trades....

It is what it is. We arent going to be healthy either this season again.....
Last year CMac got 3 pieces at the trade deadline, the biggest move was the Walker trade, the other 2 were depth players.

This year we also need at least 3 pieces, but the problem is, we need 3 big pieces. We need a 2C, top 4 D and bottom pair D. It will be hard to do all at the trade deadline. We may also need a 3C.

The Avs are a combined 4-12-1 vs Utah, Nashville, Chicago, Columbus, Boston, NY Islanders, Montreal, and Vancouver.

9 out of 34 points vs. those bad teams.

Piss poor attitude, how else do you lose?

You guys just have to accept the fact that we have a shit team this year and it’s up to CMac to fix it

I am starting to think the same. Just so many missing pieces.

There is a positive to this really bad stat. Looking at our overall record if we have such a bad record against weak teams it also means we are beating the stronger teams. The teams in the playoffs are the stronger teams. If it was the reverse it would mean we have absolutely no chance in the playoffs.

Don't forget Byram-Mittelstadt was like ~20 minutes after the Walker trade.

So last year CMac added a 2C, 4D, and two bottom six forwards at the TDL. And here we are a year later, needing the same exact things. :pullhair:

I don't know that it's the exact same.

2C definitely and a 4/5D would be nice, too, especially since Bednar likely runs 5D heavy in the playoffs the way he did in 2022.

A bottom six forward would be nice to have but if Bednar smartened up once Nichushkin returned, he'd keep Parssinen on the 3rd line and bench Wood. But we know he will punt Parssinen to the moon.

Yeah forgot about the Byram trade. Also I don’t know why people are blaming CMac for Mitts trade. It looked Ike a really good trade for us for half the season and the playoffs last year and beginning of this year. It’s not CMac’s fault that some players turn out to have a confidence of a rooster.

Once things start to go wrong, they lose all the confidence and can’t recover for some reason. Can’t blame CMac for Mitts or Colton. Both trades looked good for a while. The only one I’ll blame CMac for is the Wood extension, but it’s only a 2 mill so it’s not that huge of a deal. The biggest mistake CMac has made so far is not re-signing Kadri. That was a huge mistake actually.

We wouldn’t have a 2C issue if he just re-signed Naz and he could trade Byram for something else that made us better

I'm not pointing fingers as CMac (at least in that post). I'm just saying we're here again, for one reason or another, and it's frustrating. Avs need a lot just to get out of the first round, IMO.
