Switch Kelly and Kiviranta if you want and play Polin at 4C since the 4th line gets like 5 shifts under Bednar anyways.

Problem with the above, though, is Bednar either wants immediate results from Parssinen or he's seeing something on a shift-by-shift basis that he absolutely cannot stand because he doesn't seem to want to play this kid very much.

Drouin set up MacKinnon's 1st goal last night and was the pressure causing Ekholm to turn the puck over to Toews for MacKinnon's 2nd goal. He even put Ekholm halfway into the bench.

Those two are born to play together.

I agree, but they would've had to produce more consistently to make me question the decision to separate them, when the team is struggling offensively.

Drouin was fine. He obviously along with everyone else didn't look his best but he was hustling and playing the body. He helped Nate score the 1st one and crushed Ekholm to set up the 2nd one.

I think the Avs would benefit from switching up the PP entry and having Drouin bring the puck in. MacKinnon has no idea what to do besides making poor passes or dropping it to Rantanen in traffic. Drouin has the speed, hands, and IQ to enter.

When Burakovsky was here it was damn near automatic that he brought the puck in. I think Drouin can do the same.

NHL teams can get away with having one AHL player in their lineup, but we have had 3 AHL players for a while now. That’s just too many and for too long. The fact that we have a solid position in the playoffs is an accomplishment. I’m not even mentioning the struggles at 2C and Georgiev losing us bunch of games earlier. Bednar shouldn’t be fired, he should be considered for Jack Adams

They've done other things too when the MacKinnon slingshot entry wasn't working. I thought they had some sort of passing play set up, can't remember specifically. But yes, I'm all for them trying Drouin for the entries, or anything really.

Overall they usually do SOMETHING when the power play looks this bad. Switch up 96 and 29, switch out the bumper for a different player, but I'm just beside myself looking at them continuing to do the same f***ing thing every time without fail. This is frustrating beyond belief.

I actually like JD with Mitts for the time being. I'd really like to see JD-Mitts-Lehky kept together for a minimum of 3 or 4 games to see what kind of chemistry can develop with a few more minutes than Bednar usually gives a line before reshuffling the deck chairs.

My reasoning is that I feel Mitts' issue is between his ears. I also think JD is probably the highest IQ forward currently in our lineup although Lehky is close to him. Giving two high IQ players to a dude struggling mentally could just help him out. I've said before I've never once wanted JD to play C for us... but I almost wouldn't mind him and Mitts swapping LD/C back and forth. See if Lehky can provide some semblance of defense while Drouin attempts to jump start a moving vehicle.
