Mittelstadt’s 5v5 numbers with Makar on the ice(everybody should have good numbers):

43% xGF
44% GF
48% CF
47% SF

Awful.

Interesting to note… every single player on the team has better numbers away from Mittelstadt than they do with him.

Every single one.

Literally a 4th liner does better with a fellow AHL call-up 4th liner than they do with Mitts.

I'm starting to believe that this guy just sucks. It's truly gut wrenching to have wasted an asset like Byram on this guy (yes I know that Byram isn't exactly tearing it up either but MittelJost has forgotten how to hockey).

I would hope CMac rectifies this and looks to use Mittelstadt to bring in a different 2C OR acquires a rental like Brock Nelson to push Mittelstadt down to the 3rd line.

Enough is enough. The guy is brutal and has been for months. Too slow for this team. That was always the worry when we acquired him and it's playing out in front of our eyes. This is RyJo 2.0.

He tanked his value hard. I don't even know what kind of value he has left. Positive or negative.

2.5 years left at 5.75M per is a substantial commitment for any team.

I'm not sure what Mittelstadt needs to do to get out of his funk, but he was extremely good in the playoffs last year with a 58.6% xGF at 5v5. With the lack of assets available, I'm not really sure what we can do besides hoping he figures it out and we add inexpensive center depth at the deadline.

Ok, trade him for Kadri while you still can.

I'm done, I feel like burning my sweater with his sig on it at this point. I hope he makes this post look stupid, but he's making us all look stupid for trading for him, so whstevs.

Yeah I think Mitt's clock is ticking. I think he's gone before the deadline. The Avs have shown they want results this year. I'm bummed cuz i'm a fan of his when he's playing great, but I have no idea whats wrong with him.

If I had to guess it's conditioning. He absolutely had to take example of the pace when he got here and step it up in the off season. He clearly didn't.

He's not capable of playing the minutes needed in this system. He looks overcooked.

Trying to think of a forward who had put in his level of performance over the last 2-3 seasons that has regressed as hard as he has in his prime no less. The speed argument doesn't make sense to me, that he's not fast enough. If true how was he so productive in the playoffs and beginning of this season? I would think it would be a struggle right out of the gate w/ no end in sight. I'd say he speed seems similar, pre-slump and slump, its his decision making and confidence that seem to be in the toilet....

Again, I think it's going to come out that he got hurt at some point early in the season and that's the reason he can't get any separation whatsoever. For a guy who wasn't fleet of foot to begin with, losing even just a step is devastating.

It's either this or Cmac made one of the biggest blunders ever. I'm leaning towards the injury though, and I wouldn't be shocked if he is the guy who gets the 3 month recovery time surgery to clean something up so Landy can come back.

I just don't find it analogous to the Johansen thing. That guy clearly floated around on the ice like a drunken elephant seal. Mitts is clearly trying out there near as I can tell, it's just not happening.

I hope you're right, because if it's that he is just gassed and can't keep up. It's a huge problem.
