We should all benefit so much from panic trades - a decent replacement for Mikko, a hard working Bednar-type bottom six guy who wins faceoffs and is an actual center. And 2 draft picks. And cap space.

I don’t know that we will “win” the trade but we definitely destroyed the expectations of what we’d get in return.

This wasnt a panic move, they didnt have the rush yet to trade him. Some folks have the style to spice up their tweets a bit and I get it. Im sure Avs GM and Rantanens agent had a phone call recently where they said the trade will happen if we dont agree on this, and Rantanens side wanted more. 11,25M is low balling for him but then you have to realise you risk yourself big time in this scenario.
