I’d take him back but only if we put him on the 3rd pair and not top 4. He’d be a much better option for 3rd pair than what we have right now

Avs have too much crap on D. They legit need to get rid of Manson, Malinski and De Haan. I suppose you can have De Haan as the 7th and be ok...maybe bit this defense is going to get killed in the post season unless Makar and Toews play 40 minutes.

Manson is on and off. He can have really good games, and really bad ones. I won’t mind an upgrade there, or move him down to 3rd pair. Maybe with less responsibility on the 3rd pair he’d do well and be more consistent

The thing with Manson is that his lows are that of a third pairing defender but his highs are much better than a third pairing defender. So in saying that, I like the idea of him on the third pairing if we can find a cap compliant way of keeping him while upgrading the second pairing. If he needs to be moved to be upgraded, so be it, but we still need a third pairing upgrade in that case. Manson on the third pair while filling in higher during injuries is a very nice luxury.

Yes, add, please just add. No swapping or re-arranging the chairs.

The AVS need to add a quality dman, preferably for the right side. If it’s a LHD, so be it. Better to get a good LHD than a bad RD.

Manson goes full YOLO mode in the regular season and it's hilarious to watch - almost to the level of Miles Wood skating around aimlessly every shift - but come playoff time he is going to play well. I have no doubts about him there.

Yep.... and IF we were to be adding Jones, Seth would be playing 2nd pair with Girard, so Manson's minutes will be going doing, which increases the chances of him remaining healthy until then. That's always been my biggest fear with Manson... not his play in the regular season but rather if he would remain healthy for the playoffs.

I know he's probably gone this summer (especially if we add a Jones), but I have been starting to wonder if he actually finished this contract with us, could their be a chance he and the Avs could find common ground to keep him around another year or two as a #5?

Minny is really falling off a cliff with Kaprizov out and Gustavsson coming back down to Earth. We could catch them.

Plus Heiskanen is month to month so maybe we could catch them if we get hot, Not sure who I want in the first round but probably not Dallas.

12 million for 4 years. He's got another two years as a solid #5. Overpaid but can step into your top 4 for spot duty. And the cap is going up.

Probably what he would want and with the cap going up having a damn good #5 at a 3M price tag when his next contract would kick in might not raise the eyebrows I'm sure will be right about now.

But he's going to be what 35 at that point? I don't think I could go 4 years. I'd counter with 3.5M for 2 years... hang on, I've got a call coming in from EJ...
