Interesting that they activated Nuke to IR.
Perhaps the Avs want maximum salary leeway for trades before the 4 nations. Otherwise, why put him on IR, especially if he’s supposed to be back right after the tourney is done.

Yeah can somebody explained why the Avs would do that with Nuke? It seems to me it is because something is coming.

Well it's just regular IR too, so we're not getting his salary back or anything. Not sure the reasoning unless it's just a roster spot thing

Nope. Only Kylington was on IR. Nuke was counting as an active spot on the roster.

Did being on IR used to do something else?

For some reason I have quite a few memories of the Avs putting players on IR retroactively and then basically activating them the next day. It could have been to open a roster spot for a callup, and I didn't realize it at the time... but for some reason I remember thinking that it had something to do with cap implications.
