It's a historic Week 3, not only because Alabama is making a visit to a Big Ten school, but Fox is starting their Friday night package on the big network, now that their media deal with WWE has expired.

They're going to count on a Big 12 ranked matchup to get up those Friday night ratings. Manhattan, KS will be the stage as #20 Arizona visits #14 Kansas State, both teams opening their conference schedule with this one. It's an 8pm EDT start.

Both Kansas schools actually play on Friday, the Jayhawks look to get back after being upset in Illinois, and will start an hour earlier on ESPN. Both Kansas schools currently favored by 7.

On Saturday, Big Noon kickoff will be in Madison where the #4 Alabama Crimson Tide come all the way north to play Wisconsin, where they will face the daunting atmosphere of having to endure one of college football's most manufactured traditions of playing House of Pain's Jump Around before the 4th quarter. Alabama had a bit of trouble with South Florida again this year, that 42-16 win was much closer than the score indicates, however Wisconsin was also taken into the 4th quarter by FCS South Dakota, in what became a fairly unpredictable week on the lines. Crimson Tide is obviously favored here by 16 points.

GameDay is also featuring a noon start game, after South Carolina beat Kentucky 31-6 in what ended up being the game that decided where GameDay was going, South Carolina welcomes #16 LSU to Columbia. LSU lost a tough game to USC in Las Vegas in Week 1, and needed some time to shake off FCS Nicholls in the second half last week. Gamecocks host this gam getting 7.

#13 Oklahoma State makes the quick trip over to Tulsa for their only in-state opponent of the year, they will lay 20 on ESPN2

SEC Network airs the only other ranked matchup of the week oddly enough. #24 Boston College, now ranked off the strength of their wins at Florida State and vs. Duquesne, head to #6 Mizzou, who have yet to be scored on by otherwise weak opponents. Mizzou -17.

The midday spot gives us the realities of the Pac 12 dissolution, the Civil War is no longer played on Thanksgiving weekend, that moves to this Saturday at 3:30, but Fox gets the broadcast of #9 Oregon and Oregon State, even though the Beavs are the home team. The Beavs are also 16-point underdogs. The Ducks got some great special teams play to get by Boise State for the first time ever, 37-34.

Likewise the Apple Cup, which moves to this Saturday on Peacock at the same time. Huskies are only 4.5 favorites to their ex-conference counterpart..

Another in-state rivalry, sort of, #12 Utah heads up to Utah State, I think we're still waiting to hear if Cameron Rising is going to play after getting hurt last week vs. Baylor. Utes offense didn't score without him.

#18 Notre Dame looks to pick up the pieces after their shocking upset last-second loss to Northern Illinois at home, they will renew an old in-state rivalry at Purdue, which gets Brad and Gary into West Lafayette. The rivalry has only been played once since 2014. and Purdue last won in 2007. It was played annually between 1946-2014. Notre Dame likely needs to run the table to make the Expanded College Football Playoff, because a 2nd loss to a MAC team will look awful unless Northern Illinois somehow goes undefeated.

And the SEC on ABC feature are two unranked teams, Texas A&M (-4) @ Florida

#1 Georgia heads to Lexington in prime time on ABC/ESPN. As I said, too bad Kentucky lost or they would've had GameDay, but I believe Chris and Kirk are still on the call. Not sure Georgia is looking ahead to Alabama since they have a bye week, and neither does the line, which is 24.

Coach Prime has to pay off the back end of their home-and-home in-state rivalry, and there's going to be no excuses this week, even though they're on the road. The nearly got knocked off by Colorado State at home last year, but the line is still just Colorado -7. Nothing's ever quiet in Boulder these days, but one thing I will say is that after getting down in Nebraska last week, those kids did not quit, but again this is a revenge game and it's on the Rams' campus. We'll have to see what the crowd looks like. And it's enough to get the prime time slot on CBS (actual CBS, not cable).

Big Ten Saturday Night on NBC, for the first time, will have one of the new weird B1G matchups. Get this Indiana is favored (-3) going out to the Rose Bowl to play UCLA.

As a result of that, USC being off, and both Arizona schools playing Friday, it's a weak After Dark slate

BYU (-10.5) @ Wyoming
San Diego State @ Cal (-19)
New Mexico State @ Fresno State (-19.5)

May your under bets not get to overtime.

I’m excited for that Friday night match up!

Also I think OU maybe in for a very close game against Tulane. Especially if they looked ahead to Tennessee.

Coming off a big win versus Kansas last week, and the Big Ten season starting next week, hopefully the Illini aren't trap gaming themselves versus Central Michigan this week.

It actually won't count as a conference game because it was already scheduled as a non-conference game. Same with the 2025 rematch and last week's Baylor-Utah game (they also played last year).

Now that the pac conference is trying to rebuild itself, this should entice Stanford and Cal to come back. It makes too much sense.
I don't see Stanford and Cal crawling back to play the likes of Colorado State and San Diego State.

Once again, re-alignment f***ing sucks. This put schools like Wyoming and Hawaii's long term futures in CFB in doubt. Air Force i assume shacks up with its other service academy homies in the American while the rest kinda just sit there.

Perhaps its time for the MWC to make a call to Montana and the Dakotas.

South Alabama squeaks one out against FCS Northwestern State, giving Major Applewhite his first win.

Arizona - Kansas State. Officials couldn't make it more obvious they have bets on K State. BS calls on Arizona and the only reason KC state got their 2nd TD was because the player that would have cut off the kick return was clearly blocked from behind.

This game is an abslolute joke. Receiver pushed out of bounds - no penalty.

What? They’re already in the big ten.
??? Wisconsin has 18 Big 10 teams to play, many they can't beat. They should be playing cream puff out of conference teams.

Presumably the Badgers are making a fortune playing this game.

They should be playing the best opponents they can.
