How sure are we that Pittsburgh wins the WC round? Whether as a 5/6 vs Houston/Baltimore, or as a 3 vs Chargers/Broncos? I think they are one-and-done regardless who they play.

Which is why the "Baltimore vs Houston first round means we avoid them in the divisional" talk doesn't fly with me, because in that situation the Steelers probably lose the WC game and we end up playing the 4v5 winner anyways.
Eh, I think the Steelers beat whoever they play in the WC round (likely as the 5 vs Houston's 4). The Texans (ie, CJ Stroud) have been struggling and the Chargers/Broncos just flat-out aren't very good.

Similarly, I think the Ravens (likely as the 3 vs the 6) don't lose the WC round either.

The way I look at it is if Baltimore wins today, they're going to be the 3. Then if they win they play us.

If they lose, then Houston takes over the 3 seed, and PIT ends up 4th if they beat Cincy and possibly all the way down to 7th if not. Baltimore likely won't fall further than 5th regardless. So sure maybe LA/DEN beats Houston and makes Baltimore come here, but if Baltimore wins today it's all but guarenteed they're coming here in the 2nd round if both teams win

Healthy players and a Saturday game Wildcard Weekend is all I want for Christmas since the top seed is no longer an option. I don’t care who they face the remainder of the playoffs. If they are the best team or at least play the best game then they will win.

Funny how they keep saying broadcast in front of the whole world on Netlix

I guess no one told them it's blocked on Netflix Canada

You need regular TV to watch...which more and more people don't have

A backup $20 antenna from Amz in a drawer is probably a good idea when needed or just for local & ctv, etc. Plus they needed that extra Intl rights money for Beyonce

Allen listed (full) with throwing shoulder/elbow. Williams and Douglas full participants. Cam Lewis limited though, so the DB situation continues to be murky.

Right in line for someone shitty to go into KC for the divisional round. What an awful day of results
I think the best case scenario is now:

1) KC
2) Buffalo vs 7) Who cares
3) Baltimore vs 6) Pittsburgh
4) Houston vs 5) LA

Need Pittsburgh to lose to Cincy while LA wins out, both of which are entirely possible. See if divisional matchup voodoo can get the Steelers to pull of an upset, sending the Steelers to KC and the Texans/Chargers winner to us.

Yeah I agree. And the Chargers could at least put a scare into KC if they play well. The rest of those teams are blowout city (assuming Denver doesn't go to the 6 and Pittsburgh fall all the way to 7.)

An interesting subplot to Allem for MVP is that it triggers a not insignificant bonus that will eat up I believe 1.5 mil of cap room next year if he wins.

Another 1.5 if he wins the super bowl, but no one will mind too much if that one triggers

Now Houston punts on 4th and 2 from Baltimore's 42 down 15. That's worse than anything we've done this year. Straight up cowardly
It’s so Bills-y that they got good enough to consistently be in the running for the 2 seed right after it stopped having the automatic bye to the divisional round

They are going to pretend he didn't light up the Chiefs and Lions all this week when they prop up Lamar.

Spotrac has the incentives as 1M for AFC Championship, 2.5 M for Super Bowl, 1.5 M for MVP, plus 2025 escalators (2.5 M for AFC Championship, 5 M for Super Bowl).

Im still a bit confused that some posters dont think Allen and Lamar are neck and neck as far as caliber of players. Lamar doesnt have Allen's peak performances, but I do think he's a bit more consistent and doesnt have Allen's lows (like the HOU game), though Allen has improved leaps and bounds this year with consistency. Honestly, unless Allen goes off these next two games- I think Lamar wins another MVP. And in a league where narratives are made on hardware, it's going to be tough for me to justify Allen>Lamar. I just wish Lamar was in the NFC. He's so fun to watch. And, Im thrilled to have a QB that's consistently in the MVP conversation.

*I say all this knowing the Henry has had a big impact on Lamar this season*

I'm rooting for the Chargers to win out and the Steelers losing against the Bengals. That way it will be Pitt/Bal and LAC/Houston. It could very well happen. The Chargers finish with NE and LV . Not only would a Pitt/Bal be fun to watch , I'd expect that they would beat the living hell out of each other. I think the Steelers are the only WC team that could possibly beat the Ravens.

Their stats are similar but Lamar has the edge. Not many QBs would have this team at 12-3. There were years Josh had better stats than Lamar and/or Patrick yet they won MVPs. Josh has deserved to be the MVP at least once thus far in his career so it would be great if he finally wins this year. Although I am confident he would trade a Super Bowl or three for a lifetime of never being named MVP.

More has to do with playoff performance. Lamar has been dreadful in that department.

I don't think Allen has to necessary go off. He just has to win.

Allen should be the MVP based on how NFL media spent the entire summer saying the Jets/Fins would win the division. That the Bills would take a step back & Allen would have a down year w/o Diggs.

Ravens were expected to be good. Bills were expected to be 3rd in the division.

That narrative should be enough to put Allen over Lamar. If stats mattered that much Purdy/Dak should've won it last year over Lamar.
