Assuming ASU beats UofA, but then loses a close game against whoever they might play(looks like Iowa State is in the driver seat), is there any chance that they might still make it with 3 losses, or do they have to basically win the next 2 games to make the playoff?
Have to win out

TexAgs is unhinged after they take an L, which I may add is quite often. Right @LT

TexAgs is a cesspool

If 4 months ago you had told me we'd be 8-3 going into the Texas game with a chance to still make the playoff (by winning the SEC), I'd be pretty happy.

Elko will learn to adjust. Weigman, two awful road starts, and generally poor tackling this season cost us big time. The first is already handled, and the latter two are things I trust Elko will fix longterm.

I feel like there's a pretty clear group of playoff teams:

- 4 Big Ten teams (Oregon, Ohio St, Penn St, Indiana)
- 3 SEC teams (Texas, Georgia, Tennessee - A&M has an outside chance but must win the conference, they'd replace Tennessee if so)
- 2 ACC teams (Miami and SMU, Clemson if either of those stumble)
- Big 12 winner
- Notre Dame
- G5 winner (likely Boise)

Outside of another massive upset, this seems like a safe bet to me.

There's also a world I can see where if A&M pulls off the miracle, only the ACC winner makes it and Tennessee gets in over a 2nd ACC team.

I avoid all Buckeyes forums. They’re full of lunatics.

Bucknuts right? Well it has nuts in the name so, yeah

this is probably the best response on the thread

but for the most part, the responses are this:

I'D LIKE TO CLARIFY, THIS IS NOT ME BUT YES I DO SUBSCRIBE TO THAT BOARD.

Oh bucknuts, TexAgs and whatever LSU one it is, I think it's tigerdroppings, are absolutely inf***ingsane

I have ventured into these forums before. TexAgs I think you have to have a student email to post there? TigerDroppings I remember has fans of everyone there. But yeah, they're all insane.

CarolinaHuddle (NFL Panthers) used to have a lot of stuff like what end of line posted and it was never moderated. I then came across some NFL in general board and it was the same shit. Lot of NSFW.

I like football a lot but fellow football fans are bizarre people online. At least here, people are relatively knowledgeable.

Pun intended

And regarding your last paragraph is why I generally stay here to talk ball. No one is trying to talk over one another or calling one another names for the sake of name calling.

As long as Tennessee beats Vandy, they're in. Even if A&M beats Texas and Georgia somehow, that'll likely knock out the loser of the ACCCG or one of Bama/Clemson. Most likely the Big10 will get their main 4, the SEC will get the 3, Notre Dame (unless they lose to USC), ACC champ, Big 12 champ, and one of Boise/UNLV/Tulane. The last spot imo comes down to the ACCCG loser vs Bama and, if Clemson beats South Carolina, the Tigers. BYU could also be 10-2 from a major conference, but the Big 12 is getting disrespected worse.than the ACC despite the conference probably being better top to bottom, so they'll have no chance.

It'll be interesting to see where Bama and Clemson are ranked this week, as if they're 13-15, it sets it up so one of them could get in if they win next weekend. If no other chaos happens, the committee will have to decide if an 11-2 SMU or Miami, with no quality wins is a.better team than a 9-3 Bama or 10-2 Clemson. Bama should have no business in the playoff, but if they beat Auburn and especially if Clemson loses to South Carolina, it wouldn't be a large surprise to see the committee put them in over the runner up from the "weak" ACC. Clemson has been viewed pretty poorly by the committee, so they would need a large win over South Carolina to impress the committee enough (and I have doubts they beat the Gamecocks at all). No doubt the committee is salivating at the prospect of a 1st round matchup of 12th seed Bama @ 5th seed Notre Dame/Ohio St./Oregon/Penn St.

I think the Colorado game is still more impressive, people have proven they will watch top ranked matchups no matter who the teams are. Although having the A+ programs involved will help the number because they're national brand type programs. I'm curious if the game this weekend has enough juice, though I think Saturday afternoon after Thanksgiving is an advantageous TV window. By Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, people just want to chill out.

That’s the game that I had on out of the 3:30 window. Already knew the type of game Penn St/Gophers would be. Boring to watch. And Kentucky/Texas? Meh. Kansas was coming off two straight ranked upsets and I personally wanted to watch Colorado lose

You’ve been bringing them up here lately. If ASU loses to the Arizona or in conference title game they’ll sneak in.
Iowa State will jump them if they win out. Tulane still needs these Big 12 teams to lose. They also lost a ranked opponent after Army dropped out, and Memphis didn't get in.

South Carolina, it's hard to see how they get in. They need an awful lot of teams to lose, and one of them being their opponent this week, to then come back and win the ACC and strengthen their own resume.

In terms of OSU, Eleven Warriors might be even worse than Bucknuts. Had no idea that site even existed until last year.

Tiger Droppings is pretty fun to read. But I didn't last long after signing up and venturing into the political board. That's where the real space cadets congregated:laugh:

In regards to the playoffs, my stance hasn't wavered on this season of college football. Garbage.

No, have to win 2 games no without a doubt. Big12 Champion literally the only way.

If Clemson beats South Carolina, that likely eliminates Alabama unless chaos occurs above them. If South Carolina wins and Bama loses, they have a shot against the ACCCG loser. Unless Tennessee or Indiana loses, the last atlarge spot basically comes down to the loser of Miami-SMU, provided Miami beats Syracuse, and one of Bama and the Clemson-South Carolina winner. Of course, Texas A&M could cause quite a bit of havoc if they beat Texas and Georgia, as then either Indiana, Georgia or Tennessee would get knocked out most likely (as well as any of the teams just sitting out and the ACC title game loser).
