Buffalo Bills Week 13: Bills (7-4) v. Pats (7-4)

Fins are gonna blow this and honestly deserve the L after punting on 4th and 1 from the Ravens 40.

Or maybe not. Massive coverage bust on a jet sweep wheel route a la McKenzie last year vs. SF leads to Miami getting down to the 10.

Is it just me, or has it been strange to see NFL offenses stymied by pretty basic concepts this year? Like, hearing Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, and others talk about how they've struggled against Cover 2 deep shells. In Allen's case specifically, I get it with the o-line and the fact that opposing defenses can drop 7 or 8 into coverage to reduce/cut off throwing lanes and still cause problems up front with just 3 or 4 d-linemen, but there have also been times where he just refuses to take the open dump-off or checkdown. But for the amount these teams have seen it, you'd think they'd have effective counters by now.

Similarly, in tonight's matchup, the Ravens had no answers for the Cover 1/Cover 0 blitzes that Miami sent for basically the whole game.

Which is odd. The amount the Ravens d blitzes, thy should be used to it

Buffalo had issues two weeks ago with their blitzes as well. I think it's a lot of Flores and I like what they can do defensively.

That said, I am not looking forward to this Jets game. We have still not fixed the run/line. I just keep thinking that patterns align and if that's the case, the Bills had a VERY similar break between 88-89 where they went from a young team on an AFCC loss to a team that was 9-7 and dismissed early on. This feels so much like that year. I'm okay with it if it means the rebound is earnest the following year.

Also, I just want Moss to be released. It's a tough take but outside of the endzone he's a liability. He costs nothing in cap room basically. Just admit defeat and move on. Singletary is at least good in screens.

The AFC is drunk this year.

Also, Miami, please keep Tua forever. Man's got a noodle arm in year 2 of his NFL career and they're still running their entire offense around RPO, screens, and jump ball go routes.

They're literally spamming engage 8 on Baltimore and they can't handle it
I hate to say it- but I think Tua has potential. I wasn't able to watch the game last night, but he's been improving this season. He gets the ball out quickly and is pretty accurate. His arm isn't the strongest, but it's strong enough to get by. He isn't the most athletic QB, either. I'm thinking his ceiling is a top-10 QB, But I do think he's on his way to being a decent enough starter. Injuries are a concern, though.

Luckily, our QB is likely to be better going forward barring some crazy Buffaluck.

Bro, what? Released? A liability? Admit defeat halfway into his second season? This is a huge overreaction.

He's a good pass blocker, catches the ball well, and fumbles less than Singletary. He's hit behind the LOS constantly. He has the SECOND WORST average yards before contact in the league, and THE BEST broken tackle rate in the league. The lack of efficiency is not on him.

What in the holy hell is the AFC even this year?
Dolphins Defense has finally decided to come to play these last few games. But that was f***ing embarrassing by the Rat birds but we cant talk after that Cosmic Joke of a game against J Ville.
The AFC is all out of whack . Who will stumble to to first? No one knows

smh hines ward

prime example of a player that got wildly overrated because of his franchise. Got a second-team all pro in 2004 when he was maybe a top-20 reciever that year

Id also like to complain about Hester. Hester is a HOFer if Tasker gets in. But Michael Bates deserves HOF more than Hester.

Tasker should never be anywhere near the HOF. He was great at what he did but what he did just doesn't matter at all. If football had WAR it would be laughable how mediocre his would be. The yearly push for him to get in nauseates me.

For early 90s Bills snubs I’d go 1. Hull 2. Bennet 3. Talley 4. Tasker 5. Conlan 6. Wolfed 7. Henry Jones 8. Jamie Mueller

If the hall of fame were simply a vote of who were the best players in history, I’d agree with you. But it isn’t. Tanker changed the way special teams were played and their importance in the game.

also, special teams is very difficult to measure with WAR.

This plus they have been more open to special teams the last decade.
