You are? 51st state? Public figure making controversial public posts on extremely controversial topics like that and the middle east = PR nightmare. Well let's start with the fact that as a public figure who represents the NHL shield as an owner you're basically advised to be non-political and stay above everything. Going after 1, an entire country whose already been quite vocal at games about the 51st state nonsense and 2, being what looks like actual pro genocide (starve them) and not the fake pro-genocide lobbed around for generally supporting israel. May create issues with advertisers and fans on both sides of the border. Ya know, the people the NHL needs to survive

This. In the US, if you are strongly for one party or another, and state it publicly, you are going to piss off the 45-50% that didn't vote for your party. A business who wants to appeal to 100% of the public. Don't give them a chance to like you. It's a dumb, unforced, error, similar to what Musk has done.
