The New England Patriots will return home after two straight road games and will host the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are one of eight teams that the Patriots are undefeated against at Gillette Stadium in the regular season. The Rams are 0-2 in visits to Gillette, losing 23-16 on Oct. 26, 2008 and 26-10 on Dec. 4, 2016.
While the team have played 13 times in the regular season, the teams have squared off two times in the Super Bowl - Super Bowl XXXVI following the 2001 season, a 24-17 New England win and Super Bowl LIII after the 2018 season, a 13-3 New England win.
New England secured one of the greatest victories in franchise history when it defeated the heavily favored Rams for the NFL championship on Feb. 3, 2002, in Super Bowl XXXVI. That victory followed a tight game in the 2001 regular season that ended in a 24-17 St. Louis victory at Foxboro Stadium.
The franchise moved to St. Louis following the 1994 season before returning to Los Angeles in 2016.
Overall, the Patriots lead the series by a 9-6 margin. The series dates back to 1974, when the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams by a 20-14 score at what was then Schaefer Stadium.
