It's safe to say NOBODY predicted this. Not us, not Marty, not Hughes or Gorton.

Sometime the stars just align themselves.

Meh... MSL was laughed at by some when he said he could see the switch was about to flip.

KH saw that the roster could take a big step forward with minimal additions (whereas some posters were crying all summer that the likes of the Hawks & Preds had done way more to improve their rosters).

This isn't just luck and "stars aligning"... Much like Slaf's breakout last year, this is a very intentional, patient, and highly effective rebuild that is following the model of the best run high performance organizations on the planet.

They are getting the most important things right, and seem to have the resolve to be patient in trusting the process.

Dach was beginning to worry me. From first hand experience with an accident, I knew he had residual issues out of his control. His brain would be literally working against him for a while, but he seems to have broken through. Good on him and great for us.

This isn't the team of just a month ago. Is it for real and a new level? It's going to take at least 20 games to prove that it's not luck, but straight up skill that is getting us here.

The 2nd line has improved although Laine (to compare to CLB) is far from being in shape yet. I can't judge the first, and in the third Josh Anderson is playing exactly what he did best in CLB. I really like Heineman, I'd take him to us.
