legit question, is this the worst stretch we've had with this core since they've all made their debuts? I don't remember things being this bad, even under babcock. So I'm curious

Didn't they go on 2x lengthy losing streaks last year? They had their crisis moments too, but this might be the worst since they're technically out to redeem themselves after everyone was in tears after the loss to Montreal, supposedly.

The guy that spent 50% of the cap on 4 similar forwards and chose poorly on those 4. Tavares was he needed and Marner is so over rated and over paid

Imagine not signing JT and either driving a hard bargain with Marner (~$9m) or letting him go in an offer sheet.

Those were really the key mistakes in the rebuild.

Anyone who thinks the issue is individual players just doesn't get it. The entire philosophy of this team is terrible. That starts at the top. They bring in players who played a completely different style with their former teams, and then when they get to the Leafs they become as soft and perimeter oriented as everyone else.

The issue is whatever they're teaching these players. They are ruining young players because of it. On top of that they're making all these players entitled by giving them everything they want. Then to keep these said players, they overpay them and get rid of all the players who actually play in a way that is useful in the playoffs.

You honestly can't do something any worse than this. I have never seen a GM literally trade away or let go of all the playoff style players for soft preseason oriented players. It's almost like Dubas is intentionally sabotaging this team.

Karen Keefe has got to go. Worst coach in the league. In over his head and that twit Dubas extends him. Why? What has he done that deserves an extension and raise? Wow, this team is going to suck for a long time. First, we have to get out from under these contracts. Then we have to rebuild and develop some new stars. We are talking 10 more years until we are properly built again. Dubas threw away a 1st round pick for a few games of wassisface.

I think they only lost 5 games though and then broke the streak. Also I'm not justifying how they are playing (they are playing like dog shit) but why do we keep referencing their emotions after game 7 as if that was a fake emotional reaction lol? It was probably very real and I'm sure they felt like that in that moment, sad, upset at blowing the lead.

However they do need to step it up right now. Just not acceptable.
