look at my post history- Ive been saying this for years. We have no quality under 30 tough players on defense outside of Mccabe who is not very good. or forward. No opposing players are scared to park in front of our net. No opposing d is afraid to be hit by any one of our forwards. we will never win anything with this group.
We had Schenn, but we only won one freaking round. Do we need both Schenns, or perhaps convince Roman Hamrlik to come out of retirement?

Went out and got tough and they led playoffs in hits. Still couldn’t score. We need our top guys to get more chances and start converting, or possibly secondary scoring. Klingberg, Domi, and bertuzzi are supposed to do that but they kind of suck at hockey mostly.

Your best players need to lead by example. Auston and Mitch don’t have that in them.

Auston maybe if surrounded by the right people. Willie maybe. But not Mitch for sure.

Compare them to Stammer, Kuch and Point. Same jam is not there.

All the second tier plugs in the world won’t help overcome that.

These softies are gonna be first round fodder again this year.

They're all so wimpy and weak. With spoiled little rich kid faces. They look like they're begging for a knuckle sandwich.

And that's exactly what's waiting for them again these playoffs.

The team has made sure of that. Everyone knows to beat Toronto you just have to play them hard. They'll roll over and take their beating.

Thank the other team for it after.

Once upon a time it meant something to wear the blue leaf. Players took pride in standing up for themselves and each other. Nowadays the name on the back of the jersey is more important than the one on the front.

I'll always be a fan of this team.

But that doesn't mean I have to be a fan of the players. I support the crest and everything that emblem stands for. Which is why it's getting harder and harder to cheer for this current roster with each playoffs failure.

If these softies don't have any pride in themselves they shouldn't expect the fans to have any for them either.

It stands for you putting your money in Rogers/Bell’s pocket or Ballard before them.

The only thing ML$E related I bought in the last year was a 2023 calendar that had Jack Campbell as February.

Pierre Engvall was September. Michael Bunting is December. I think that says a lot about what the Leafs think of their fans.

Says a lot about fans like me too.

The way I see it, if you're still financially supporting this team, you're part of the problem.

People always compare to Washington or whatever. They are forgetting that Ovie was trucking people and scoring goals in the playoffs, his team let him down that’s why he has only 1 cup. What do Matthews and Marner do? they are just happy collecting cheques, hanging out with Bieber, and putting up fancy numbers in the regular season. But come playoffs, they wilt and continue to play this perimeter style.

It’s a guarantee this team goes nowhere this year the way they are currently built. Another wasted year. Such a garbage organization.

Rinse and repeat for decades

But we still love em

IMHO, I like tougher players, not fighters, just tougher, BUT, if that is not your best guys strength, then you had better be faster, more creative, more explosive than other teams. You need to score 6 per game. The only player who plays like that today is WN.
It is unsuccessful to turn AM and MM and Knies etc into d first guys. Give up on that and turn race horses unbridled, these guys are not capable of both, they will NEVER be tough enough, strong enough to win playing D. We have our Gretzky, Messier, Anderson, Kurri, Lowe, now put Robertson Knies, Jarn, etc into motion....score 6 or 7 and let's have some fun.

We had one of the most coveted coaches in Babcock (at the time), we now have a coach who has the best winning percentage to start their coaching career with X amount (I forget) of games… When do we start blaming the players? Maybe they’re not as good as we all thought.

Dubas royally screwed us over by giving these players massive post entry level contracts that they definitely did not deserve. Only Nylander got paid accordingly and he’s become our best player. Now all of them who were overpaid initially will obviously want increases. Hurting our cap structure even more.

I think it may be Keefes system. I’ve seen many players come to Toronto and instantly become a marshmellow after years of playing hard hockey.
You can’t add one or two tough players and expect the entire team to all of a sudden become tough. It’s something that needs to start from the top and work its way throughout the lineup.

Keefe doesn't have this 'best winning percentage' because of his coaching, most believe he has that distinction in spite of his coaching.
He and Dubas both walked into stacked situations and together have made a mess of it.

More accurately, people see highlights on twitter or the occasional high-intensity game, they misjudge other teams and players and their "toughness" and clamor for them, and then when they come here and people start watching them every game, they realize what they actually are but don't want to admit they were wrong, so they blame the coach (or somehow, the GM) for "changing" them.
