GDT: We are not playing the Blackhawks at hockey today. We are playing the Lightning.

People realize that some of the Ned critics have seen him in his non-NHL games too, right? I think he's still got the same question marks after tonight. Even tonight there were some of the bad habits that I think will hold him back. But he made the saves and won the game. Kudos to him, but there is a long list of goalies that have shutouts in the NHL that weren't shit. I'm not rooting against the kid. I hope he wins 20 straight Vezinas, Harts, Conn Smythes, and Cups. One good game doesn't change my opinion of him, but my opinion has also always been I hope he proves me wrong too.

It seems like having a structure in place and letting your players marinate works. Like the old Red Wings after they were the Dead Wings but before they were the Dead Wings again. By the way props to them for beating Florida after getting pantsed yesterday.
Oh most definitely. Bean has been great. Lorentz has looked like a baller. Ned just shut out the defending Cup champs. I can't say I miss the old days, where we had big names like Jerome Samson and Bobby Sanguinetti filling those roles.

The Carolina Hurricanes currently posses the HIGHEST points percentage in the NHL.

Ladies and Gents, we are on fire right now.
That's after several players had COVID. And we still haven't really iced our fully healthy roster yet.

We'll still run into a rut or two like any team but it's these type of runs that make a difference.

I'm not too worried about goaltending at this point. If it's not deemed good enough for the postseason by the FO, we have a top-5 farm system to barter for one at the deadline.

He was the AHL goaltender of the year. If you think he wasn't good in the AHL, then it's because that's what you were choosing to see.

Cool man. Again, I have no reason to root against him. Just because you have great numbers at a level doesn't mean there aren't concerning aspects of your game for a long-term NHL career.

He was for a long time considered the best American goalie prospect, so it's not like his flaws have been unnoticed by people, he was just good enough that his flaws didn't matter as much.

I'm not saying I think he's going to be a stud NHLer but I think he's going to be at least a 1B type who can play 35-40 games and give you a chance to win most nights. Which seems like something that fits right into the way the org wants to address the goaltender situation.
