Dallas committed literally 24 minutes of stick penalties in the lead up to that 2 on 1. Jesus christ. I know they can't win every game, but Dallas shouldn't be in it at all because they ought to be on the PK for more than half the game. They genuinely play awful, dirty hockey.

Like say the extra pass only gets to the shooter 1/4 of the time. But that 1/4 of the time leads to a goal half the time. That's a 12.5% chance of a goal. I'll take those odds versus a shot against a good squared up goalie.

It looks bad when they don't get a shot, but remember any shot that doesn't score is a failure!

I think looking for the pass is good and can lead to higher percentage chances, but when you’ve made it clear it’s all you’re looking for then defenses can cheat towards the pass making the chances way lower. Have to be a credible shooting threat to open things up too.
