Went to a caps game in Dallas and missed a mike green goal while waiting in line for a hot dog. We lost 2-1. The away streak will probably end tonight

Caps win the least vs San Jose (37.5%), and 2nd least vs Dallas (39.8%).

I'm going against the odds and calling this a win.

I would have thought Vrana would be getting a jersey more often. His productivity is actually pretty good when you factor in his ATOI, which IIRC, is around 10 mins per game.
I think their thought process is they know what they have in Vrana and know he’s not in their long term plans, and they’re really trying to get Lapierre going. Unfortunately Lapierre continues to struggle and the third line in general isn’t great, so it makes sense that they want to change it up. Or maybe I’m overthinking it and it could be as simple as wanting to get Vrana a game, but given they play tomorrow in Chicago and they’re choosing to scratch Lapierre tonight I don’t think that’s the case.

MD/VA/WV intersection
horrible record in DAL
8-0-1 streak
10W road streak
streaks bound to end or...

Carbs+team has been great in bucking the trends and history this season, with last 2 'meh' games maybe we'll be movtivated and dominate tonight with a dominant performance and go from paper tigers to paper-mache tigers :m-ooh::slaugh:

I think it is all of this. Plus they probably need to start showcasing Vrana for a trade.

I am now thinking when OV comes back, it could be Vrana getting sent down (if he doesn’t get claimed). Keep Miro and Lappy in Washington. Miro to play and Lappy as 13F.

It makes the doldrums-type December snoozers with CBJ and Montreal much more tolerable when they show they can turn it on for the heavyweight matchups.

They are due for a loss, just hope to see an intense playoffs style game a la the win vs Toronto

Yea, I think Miro has looked pretty solid grinding on the Dowd line. His positioning and decision-making has improved. He’ll probably still need time in Hershey, but I hope he gets time on the Eller line once Ovi returns.

Mangi and Lappy offer kind of the same thing right now - Miro would provide some physicality and shooting ability. I would love for Vrana to earn a permanent spot there, but it seems unlikely.
