Thank you Skinner for not letting in shit. In other news: the refs tried really hard to screw over the Oilers playing actual playoff big game hockey. There were penalties available to call, but the refs basically called one accurate thing all night. Embarrassing (or should be) for the league.

Stu showed something tonight imo. There was a little fire there and it looked good on him. He was moving, he was closing off everything along the ice, and he was quick to his stances. The save on Barbashev was huge. Shooter picked his spot and Skinner met him there, at a pretty important time in the game.

I’m not ready to do a complete 180 on him just yet, but I really liked his game tonight.

This narrative that the Oilers were running Hill tonight was nonsense. Hill for whatever reason started the game unhinged. He was like that the entire first period and then his behaviour was normal again the rest of the game and coincidentally there were no more incidents after that.

If there’s a story here it’s what was up with Hill to start the game.
