Steelers should fire Tomlin. This is their ceiling with him as a coach. Just pathetic
He's bad but no one's doing shit with this team if Russ is at the helm. He is washed.

Ravens look great but Steelers just look wholly unprepared. Which is insane for a third game against

Lamar had his torso wrapped and they were checking his right side; broadcasters mentioned he was avoiding twisting/side to side motion?

No coach in the history of football would have won anything relevant with that roster. Russ is cooked. The offense isn’t good enough.
The flip side is it's hard for the Steelers to improve their roster--specifically at the most important position--with Tomlin there consistently dragging the rest of the roster to 9+ wins. Bottoming out might let them find guys at the top of the draft order (although that's no certainty either).

So either their GM has to be able to find that QB elsewhere with a FA gamble, or hope for a deep class to leave a good QB for the back half of the 1st round, or get lucky with a later round pick, or sell the farm to move up. It's a tough spot to be in.

We have to go through Denver. Baltimore. KC. And then probably Detroit or Philly. All of those teams have more talent, minus Denver.

For a retooling year, we had a hell of a season. I trust Beane. He addressed the Oline which was disastrous. I think we’re going see a heavy investment on D with our plethora of picks this draft. Picks that Beane and company have been nailing.

I think the path this year is an impossible feat, despite how godly JA has been. Like the Steelers, we’re thin on the talent department and Allen can only do so much to elevate his team. It’ll suck to see us get bounced.

Deep down inside, I’m expecting it, so it won’t be as crushing if it happens. But, I love the core of our current team, and a couple of upgrades in certain positions can catapult this roster into being the next Chiefs or Patriots dynasty.

QB is everything in today’s NFL. Steelers are f***ed. And I’m ok with this. If you’re not drafting that franchise QB in today’s league, you’re always going to come up short when the games matter most.

Eh, IDK. I think OP for this thread is right that it's a rebuilding year. Next year is likely our best chance. Baltimore looks unstoppable and Lamar looked fantastic in a cold-weather playoff game tonight. I think we win tomorrow but I will not be mad if we lose to Baltimore. Next year we'll have the Von contract off the books, the progression of Shakir and Kincaid, and Cook in a contract year.

It's his roster. He picked Russ. He has an awful track record with QBs & picking his coaching staff.

There's a reason why he's 0-5 since 2017 in the playoffs. Easily one of the most overrated coaches of the last decade.

It’s not “his” roster. It’s the roster he’s been given. Get your shit right. The GM constructs the roster. The coach tries to make the most with the roster he’s given.

Replace Tomlinson with any other coach in the history of the NFL. That team loses. 💯.

Right. Mike Tomlin has no say on who the QB is. Has no say on what his roster is. He has no say on what QB they draft. The longest tenured HC in the NFL is really just powerless.

The team already loses. They're 0-5 in the playoffs since 2017.
