Haven’t been to a playoff game since 2012,what an atmosphere, died down a bit at 4-1 but was buzzing again as soon as they made it 4-2. What a game to see live.

At the end of the day Vancouver wholeheartedly deserved to win that game. They carried the play after the 1st period, and they didn't fold after a couple of awful goals made it 4-1.

The oilers might have had done better with Seymour skinner in net.

That game winner was atrocious, and it's the timing of that stinker that can kill the confidence that his teammates may have in him. When the chips are down, you dont want to be worrying whether you tender will allow a bad goal. Those who have played this game on any level can tell you how it can even affect your own game when playing infront of a goalie that you lose confidence in.

Skinner can only be blamed on for so much, you just can't win having only one shot from the time you are up 4-1 to down 5-4.

Had the Oilers kept skating, pressing and controlling plays, this game would not have ended the way it did.

Oilers coaching staff has to take blame for not adjusting after only having 4 shots on net, not even calling a timeout when it was 4-4.

Edmonton could have had zero shots, if skinner was at the bare minimum mediocre in that third stanza.

Oil had a 3-1 lead. All three third period goals were stoppable. Plain and simple. Skinner collapsed.

Seriously. Either A) They're delusional or B) there is a league wide conspiracy to make them lose via intentional bad reffing.

They had a 4-1 lead because Silovs let in 4 goals on like 12 shots. They got outplayed five on five the whole time except for the first few minutes of the game

DeSmith start game 2? He has the best career numbers against Edmonton of Vancouver's goalies, even better than Demko who is 5-8 lifetime against them.

Funny enough they've both played 55 playoff games now. One of them has 40 more points than the other in those 55 games.

Man those points he racked up against Cam Talbot, Martin Jones, Johnathan Quick, and Jacob Markstrom sure came in handy tonight!

That’s fine, but at the end of the day Edmonton had a 4-1 lead and the goals given up with a 3 goal lead were all bad goals. What silovs gave up were bad but not nearly as demoralizing.

the bottom 6 of Vancouver will definitely not take over this series lol

they just did in 1 game. the lindholm line ate ceci/nurse pairing alive scoring chances 12-1.

Nearly doubled up Edmonton on both chances and high danger chances. Edmonton finished the game with an expected goals of 1, Vancouver expected goals of 3.

Vancouver also played pretty poorly and can be expected to play better. Skinner and the defence deciding to turn into pumpkins isn’t really a “miraculous comeback”. That’s more on Edmonton playing like a bad team

They always turn into pumpkins when they play the Canucks.

Unfortunately they lose nearly every time they don't play the LA Kings. The last time the Oilers didn't play the LA Kings in the 1st round they got swept in the 1st round. Very fortunate break to get the weakest team in the Pacific every season.

The only thing miraculous is how Skinner is considered an NHL goalie by Oilers organization

Yeah, neither team really got many good scoring chances but Skinner was scoring on himself and letting guys score from ridiculous angles.

Whatever makes you sleep better but Canucks had their 3rd string goalie play a bad game and get beat 4 times on 14 shots. Yet we still beat the Oilers, so dont bring up the goalie excuse of why Oilers lost. They got outplayed big time.

That probably should have been a 2-1 game if it had reasonable goaltending. Pretty shoddy in that game though.

This information surprises not a single Oilers fan. Unfortunately.

Oilers better get used to it, and there are teams that go 4 lines deep, deeper than what Canucks have on the 4th line

note sure why some people are shocked by this outcome. Vancouver won the division wire to wire this season. Vancouver has a better coach

At the end of the day they got 1 PP, McDavid had his worst game of the playoffs, Draisaitl was in and out with cramping issues, Skinner played poorly and the canucks still had to pull off a miraculous come back to win. It’s probably not going to keep going that way. McDavid will be better.

Oilers Pk is still clipping at 100%. Scored on their only PP. Over 7 games this will swing things big time. I expected a split in van and I expected the oilers to beat themselves once in this series and that happened tonight.

The confidence of you guys are unmatched honestly. The only fans I see that are so overconfident even when a team has clearly beat them 5 times this season with 2 different coaches in both regular season and playoffs.
