This one is going to get down right nasty and I’m here for it.

Both these teams had their series wrapped up before either of Boston or Dallas had theirs done and yet it’s the last series to start and will be lagging the other series. I’m betting whoever comes out of this all Canadian matchup is going to have a tight two day turnaround heading into conference finals.

draisaitl and hyman had more goals than the whole canucks team in 6 games lol. if the canucks couldnt score on nashville they may be in trouble vs the oilers. as long as the oilers keep the games from turning into run and gun games they should be able to dismantle the canucks. Demko would be the equalizer and its too bad hes hurt because it would make the series very close imo.
Oilers don't play that way though, and really are they gonna change their whole game plan to that? Nashville did that because it was the only way they had a chance of winning, they didn't have the top lines we did. Why the shit would the Oilers do the same?

Considering their points and games played are mirrored in the playoffs, pretty egregious.
And I won't even bring up the regular season.
If he’s not with McDavid the difference between Miller and Draisaitl isn’t that big of a gap.

Combining these teams seems like a fun idea to bring the fanbases together. How would your lineup look? Heres what it might look like:

Pettersson McDavid Brock Boeser
Joshua Miller Hyman
Hoglander Draisatl Garland
Nugent-Hoppins Lindholm Henrique

Hughes Hronek
Bouchard Zadorov
Soucy Ekholm

Demko
Silovs
I see what you’re doing.

Tsk tsk

This post made me feel better about the Oilers' chances. Thank you!

There’s a reason no Oil fans are joining you in this weird Goalie flex you’re on right now. They’ve all faded into to hedges behind you alla Homer.

Quit while you’re way behind on this one
Thanks for your input. Our starter got the job done faster than both your 3rd string and backup

Why are you guys acting like the Canucks are a very young team?

All your top players have been in the league for 6+ seasons.

Last time I checked, isn't the Canucks roster around the middle of the pack when it comes to age?
this is the first year they are in playoffs after 9 years away, so they are early in their rebuild, the window to contend was supposed to creak open next year.

This year's expectation is to fight for a playoff spot, from management to fans.

The age of the core is not old, 12th youngest someone said. There's still decent amount of time for them to be a contender. The team was mismanaged by a person-that-shall-never-be-named, so the rebuild was delayed. Edm should know something about this, same reason why it took Mcdavid 9 years to have a contending team.

Clobbering the Oilers in regular season was one thing, they were expected to do well in regular season, but the current iteration of the team is thin, its not a roster built for a long playoff run. Team is missing its Vezina candidate, and on the third string goalie, and has little playoff experience to top it off. All these factors lead to a lower expectation for the team from everyone's point of view, its not cup or bust here, its at the gain experience stage.

There is no denying that they overachieved so far, from taking the division from the Oilers, to being in the second round. And if they overcome the odds lol and advance, then it'll be fun to see what that means for the other team. See Boston V Toronto.

they arent, they are going to control the play and wait for the canucks to take penalties and put the dagger in them. the preds are not the oilers and the canucks barely beat nashville

Top line is missing a LW like the Nashville series.

Top pairing D is also missing a RHD like the Nashville series.

Imagine playing the guy with 4 goals ahead of the guy with 7 goals? lol

Ekholm is easily the best Dman on both team in the playoffs and playing him in the bottom pairing is just hilarious.
