I do wonder how Vancouver is going to fair with Silovs/DeSmith. They won’t be able to protect the net and contain McDavid. I foresee McDavid getting tons of open ice.

Without a healthy Demko, Canucks are in a jam with who the shadow/protect.

Healthy McDavid vs. Injured Pettersson/Demko, you can easily see a uno reverse on the regular season and have Edmonton sweeping the series

How are they underdogs? For the entire season we heard they were the gods of the pacific and nobody else in the division had a chance. Especially the SHITTY Oilers who got a lucky 16 game win streak to save their season?

All of a sudden they’re an underdog team just happy to be there?

Cmonnnnnn brooooo

According to the majority of Canucks fans in here, they certainly aren't underdogs.

Oilers had the more convincing round 1.
Oilers are fairly healthy.
Canucks heavily injured.

Heavily injured? Who's injured aside from Demko that actually matters?
Pettersson’s been injured since the regular season
Hughes got banged up early in the Nashville series

#1G, #2G, #1C and #1D is considered heavily injured

Oilers netminders generally turn into a pumpkin about this point.

DeSmith is coming to burn down villages and his team in front of him is down by law to back him up. Fear the Orca.

they only have two injuries from what we can tell maybe hronek as well. 3 players. otherwise the others are healthy. dakota? too a shot off game 3 on the foot. so maybe him as well.

That's lame, both still played.

Every team has players that are dealing with injuries this time of year, and they play through it.
Yes they do, but a list of known injuries to key players also helps to skew the odds of who wins the series. Which is what this conversation was about

When both are minor injuries, I don't think the excuses your loading up matter.

Not to mention, you guys probably lose to the Preds if your #2 was healthy.

Players play through varying degree of injuries, it still changes how the odd makers see a series playing out

What are Pettersson's and Hughes' injuries?

You must know something no one else knows.
Hughes they just said he was banged up, Pettersson there is a more in depth go in the “what’s wrong with Pettersson” thread

I reread and just want to note: Getting banged up isn't the same as being injured. If that's the bar, then all the players are pretty damn banged up at this point lol.
Absolutely, but again. This is just verbiage for the oddmakers and nothing more.

If McDavid and Drai were injured, while Petterson and Demko healthy, I would favour the Canucks.

But with Demko out and Petterson injured, the Oil are clearly the favourites.

Who cares, this season has already been a massive success for the Canucks, while if the Oilers choke out in the Conference finals it will be the most emberrassing dismantling of a team with a generational player.

Gretzky got them four Cups, Mario got the Pens a couple, same with Orr in Boston.

McDavid? Zero. Zilch. Zip. Nada.

But... they do have the advantage, I even gave you the stats to show that the Canucks are advantaged at 5v5 in the playoffs.

Canucks are 4th in xG% (54.61%), Oilers are 10th (47.43%)
Canucks are 4th in Corsi (52.45%), Oilers are 15th (42.66%)
Canucks are 6th in Fenwick (51.23%), Oilers are 15th (43.32%)
Canucks are 3rd in xGD (+2), Oilers are 10th (-1.06)

Now, you may not think that's important, I'm not so sure it is either as the Oilers have the firepower to ignore stuff like Corsi and Fenwick, but the Canucks definitely do have the advantage.
O this is a treat. 6 game sample size against the same team.

Might actually be satire in which case I applaud you.
The key Difference between the 2 fanbase, one cheers for their team, the other spends the majority of their time cursing the other. Easy to tell which is the A side.
Every fanbase has idiot fans but that video is fuel for withdrawing from society.
