I think you can say that about any team though.

The Game is about your top players.

I think the Kings are a better team, but if your top players don't show up....

Then you lose, better team or not.

I agree to a point.

I will add that tonight the Sharks scored a goal when we were without Richards and Kopitar available to us due to penalties and that we didn't have Stoll to fall back on.

The sharks were only capable of scoring that goal because we were without our top 3 centers.

Says an awful lot.

I have always felt that these guys on this board know what they are talking about but not this time.

I thought Kings played great but all the PK gazed them and they had a hard time finding back to their game. Don't think they were that bad and if Toffoli is rested and back next game and Sutter can math him against his pick that is an big advantage. Maybe that is what Sutter is going to do, pure speculation on my behalf.

But not as bad as most of you say IMO.

And how the **** don't they call out Couture for a GI on Quick is beyond me.

Fair points but the bolded one was an amazing non call. Sure seemed like a text book definition of GI to me.

Is it just me or are the Refs letting the Sharks get away with a little more than the Kings... Are they still mad at Quick for Game 3?

The Calls have a way of evening up. I am positive the Sharks try that again in LA they will get caught.

Wouldn't shock me on bit if the Kings receive a 5 on 3 sometime during the game.

That Clifford call I thought was weak. Clifford even slowed up to not drill Patty M.

Still got two minutes, might as well have leveled him.

This is what pisses me off about the NHL, or sports in general. Why does what happened in Game 3 matter anymore? They're different refs, it's a different day, GET OVER IT.

Do refs get punished when they make bad calls on the ice? Why do players get punished? Reffing has become so ridiculous, they've got way too much power and even when you watch HBO 24/7 Rangers-Flyers, you hear the refs ignoring players when they ask why they whistled or what the penalty was. It's becoming quite ridiculous, if you ask me.

Powerplays:
SJS: 24
LAK: 18

so hopefully we get 6 powerplays in game 7 :)

That Clifford call was ridiculous BS and pretty much set the tone for at least the 1st half of the game, weak ass penalties all around. The Richards and Kopitar calls were legit though, and it was frustrating to see guys like that take those penalties. Richards did stop a good scoring chance by Burns though. Game was frustrating to watch for me...

The start did set the Kings back and they were behind the ball, however, I felt that they were able to bounce right back and had momentum going in their favor at the end of the 2nd period. But for some reason, they just had nothing left in the tank in the 3rd.

I'm expecting a big performance from them and to come out fired up at home in Game 7. I remember the big advantage the Avs had against the Kings playing at home in Game 7 back in 2001 and 2002, and I'm hoping that we see that from the Kings at home on Tuesday.

I'm still bitter about what happened in Game 7 in 2001. That awful sound of Smoke hitting the post in the dying seconds of the second period, he had literally the entire half of the net to shoot at and he hit the post. He scores, I think the Kings hang on and win that game.

Oh what could have been.

I felt that the perfect story was already written for that 2001 Avs team to win the Cup that year. You had Blake facing his old team in the semifinals and defeating them in 7, then you had the classic matchup of the two best goalies of their eras in Brodeur vs. Roy, and of course the campaign to win the Cup for Ray Bourque. I don't believe in destiny, but if there ever was such a thing, that team was destined for a Cup. They had all the pieces and they all came through, even with Forsberg out of the Avs lineup.

Win or lose on Tuesday, let's not blame the refs, no matter how bad it gets. I don't want to pull out my tin foil hat.

I don't like game 7s when it comes to the Kings, there's too much at stake and anything can happen. Just look at the Leafs vs Bruins game 7 recently.

I got cheered up by one of the bus drivers that took me to the store tonight...

There was a drunk wearing a Sharks jersey... He bumped into my shoulder while I was paying my fare and he stumbled and fell face first on the sidewalk...

The driver didn't call this in...but he did say without missing a beat...HE ACTS LIKE HE'S ON THEIR ACTIVE ROSTER...

Who knew that Logan Couture rode the bus?

It looks like I havent missed anything (again).

Believe it or not, but I've only witnessed one Kings loss this post season (game 1 vs Blues, Quick's horrible mistake).

Its not that surprising because the Kings suck on the road, but still I've seen that single away win and 6 others wins. :D

So do we blame you for the loss?

Next season we will be a much better team. If we do lose its okay because next season we are probably gonna win it. We have a very bright future and this management has all the tools and pieces to put a much better roster next year.

I just really can't get over what a missed opportunity tonight was. The Sharks didn't impress me at all tonight. They looked nervous, tenative, and a little beat up. I thought the Sharks team we saw in the first period of game four was by far the best they've played in this series. We didn't get close to their best tonight and we managed to limp away with a loss.

It's frustrating because this team, for the most part, has no idea what it's like to play a game seven. There are, I think, two impact players (Richards, Carter) that have played a game seven before? Brown, Kopitar, Doughty, even Quick - none of these guys have any idea what kind of a thing that is in the postseason. Hell, most posters on this forum were probably too young or not following the team very close in 2002 - the last time we were in a game seven. It sucks and literally one bad bounce is all that's between moving on and going home.

I really, really, really don't want to lose to that stoner faced gutless never-won-anything Joe Thornton. I just really, really don't. But I've said it for weeks now - I just really don't think it's our year. Nothing is coalescing like it did last year. Lines are out of wack, the team is beat up, Sutter is making absolutely bizarre lineup decisions. Just not our year, I don't think. Which sucks, certainly.

All I know is that there wasn't nearly the amount of turnover in the roster to justify going from the team that set records on the road last playoffs to the team that has officially gone 1-7-3 in its last 11 on the road. Pretty ****ing sad.
