Not to mention it looks like the Sharx are in their heads with all the whining and dumb penalties being taken. Wish they would just bury their heads and play....

I'm worried I'm wasting my time right now. If the Sharks are going to score, please do it quickly so I can go to bed again.

I hate to admit it, but after 9 games and 1 period, I have finally come to the conclusion that this year's team does not have it.

Every game I keep hoping, "Will this be the game where the Kings play their best?" I'm still left wanting. Hopefully it'll happen in the second (or 3rd) period. If not, I don't want to hear the players after the game saying, "We still haven't played our best hockey." Because they're actually getting worse. I'll go bat **** crazy.

Here's hoping for a much better 2nd period....

Time to shuffle the lines like I suggested in the pre-game thread.

Brown-Kopitar-Toffoli
Penner-Carter-Williams
Clifford-Richards-Lewis
King-Fraser-Richardson

That looks great.

Good news guys, I'm hearing that the Kings plane just landed in San Jose, they'll be at HP Pavillion in time for the second period.

Need to play with that mentality though...

Which is easy to beat if the kings could pass. They should have several outnumbered attacks if they stop passing to skates.

Yup the flubbed passes are a sign of fatigue, just not moving the puck fast enough.

That Blues series and injures might have done the Kings in.

I would have either Penner or King on Richards LW, if they are going to keep pushing the square peg through the round hole in regards to Richards against Thornton. They need more size against Thornton and Burns, I'd go with Penner on the LW.

But they need to get Carter away from that matchup, the Kings need his offense.

I like how much Sharks fans were complaining about the Torres suspension. Trading Stoll for Torres is a huge win for them. Torres is the Shark's MVP right now, Kings haven't looked the same since the hit.

This game will turn around, regardless of whether we win or not.

King's presence on the second line is still baffling. Richards looks like a junior player out there. Kopitar is still milk carton status. This is just not going to get it done.

The Kings can still easily win this series because they're clutch and Quick is on his game, but this team is very much missing that mental gear they had last year. They simply look complacent.

Cup hangover, boys.

I'm honestly not one to discredit the team or not believe, but at this point it's just been more of the same going back to the STL series. Something is missing. The players talk about not playing their best and needing to step up, but quite frankly it's just talk so far.

We're consistently getting outshot, out face offed, and out played. I can only remember Gm 4 vs STL as being a game where the Kings had any semblance of the team we're hoping to see... and that was after going down 2-0.

The Kings looked like a team that needs to be taken to the back of the shed and put out of its misery. Let's see which Kings team shows up in the 2nd period. They look like a neutered squad, afraid to take hits, buckling under pressure, allowing the Sharks to run around at their own will. It's unbelievable how this game is still 1-0 after 20.

I know we are being outplayed but doesn't it seem like every bounce that is going off someones stick is going right to a Shark. Off blocked shots, passes or anything else.

I realize why you guys want to switch Richards line off of Thorton's line but what's the alternative? The 1st line? They can't even score without that pressure on them.

There's nothing you can do but I think they should add Penner to line two to improve it so it can at least might put a bigger effort against Thorntons line

You create those by wanting the puck more.

The Sharks are outnumbering the Kings in every zone.

Kings have too much waiting for the puck and not enough go get it.

Well, Kings were in this situation just three weeks ago against Blues gm 1. Quick kept them in game then and the team managed to take control during last quarter of 3rd and ot. We'll see what happens now, though Sharks offensive power is far more superior than Blues.

Hope we don't see any line shuffling. The top line needs to step the **** up. I nearly gave up all hope for the Richards line, he just can't take Thornton.

The Kings have the most bi-polar team I've ever seen, look at Williams he was the best skater on the ice for the Kings in the first round series and now he looks like he should be scratched.

Richards and Kopitar, you never know what you're going to get game to game. Richards looks like the best player on the ice one game and then has a period like we just saw where he looks like a JV cornercovering the all-state WR.

The only consistent is Quick.

Inconsistance describes the Kings this entire season. True about Quick

My thoughts exactly. Every time I hear Dustin Brown say "we haven't played our best yet" it makes me want to strangle my cat.

Wouldn't mind a vice versa situation as ****** as that sounds, even things up a little bit....

Best I have ever seen Thorton play...Maybe these Sharks are finally tired of losing in the playoff's.

Great teams find a way to win games, even when the chips are down. Let's see what this Kings team is made of and which team shows up in the 2nd period. It'll be telling if they're going to come out guns blazing or if they're going to crawl back into a shell.

Not to take anything away from the sharks but we haven't been hot last series and even the two games we won.

Thinking here that maybe this is why it's so hard for teams to come back the following year after winning the Cup. They've hit the top and find it hard to get that determination back again.

I'm ****in' bummed, it just looks like they have nothing left in the tank, kinda like that Game 7 Ducks-Wings game where the Ducks looked absolutely defeated...
