Baseball is a higher priority than hockey with a much bigger draw
They play 162 games. There's always tomorrow, literally.

The pace of the baseball game is slow…so it would see, like the game will have to start on ESPN2 regardless.
Maybe they can show the hockey game between baseball pitches. Even with the pitch clock, it still takes too long.

I’ll still watch. I mean strategically it makes no sense for the league. Why miss out on the east coast TV audience on a Sunday? Game could easily start at 7 ET and also not conflict today’s NBA game
I'll be front and center too. It's not like a married man of 22 years has anything better to do at 10pm!!

This one is going back to Vegas for 7.

Something tells me the Oilers are going to be on the power play a bit tonight and Mcdavid and Drai will be at their best.

Skinner good enough to get the win with some good power play fueled run support for the Oilers.

It’s been explained several times. ESPN and Turner split the first two rounds of the playoffs evenly. So far Turner has aired more second round games than ESPN. So ESPN has the rights to this game. However, ESPN also has a contractual time slot commitment to MLB for 7pm window for Sunday Night Baseball and they don’t want to bump the hockey game to ESPN2 (likely because it is in less homes). That left 10pm as the scheduled time.

The league knew problems like this would pop up when they signed the ESPN deal.
An excellent explanation and it all makes perfect sense. Thanks. Nonetheless, and not that you are saying it isn't, it is still a fail for the league to not have some contractual flexibility in this circumstance, particularly with four different networks involved in the post-season, and other networks handling conflicts when they arise.

In Vegas is there better on how many power plays the Oilers will get? Like over/under 5. And how long before the Oilers get their first PP? Over/under 2 minutes.
I see the oilers getting over 5 PPs and their first one they get will be inside of 2 minutes from the puck drop.

Both teams have averaged 4.4 powerplays per game in the series. Unless one of the teams goes incredibly undisciplined (which we've seen from both teams at times), chances are neither team is getting a massive advantage one way or the other. The only reason for people to complain about the Oilers getting a PP is because they're operating around 50% in these playoffs. You shouldn't be punished for being incredibly good at something.

No chance Skinner should be in for game 7. Play Campbell tonight. Hope he's good enough at home and play his veteran experience in a series decider on the road

If he wins tonight, absolutely no way they switch for game 7

Actually only about $140 million. The bulk of the MLB contract comes from Fox and TBS, which has playoff rights (though ESPN has the best regular season contract of three).

He should be getting this start
I gotta watch on delay even with late start time. Me and the lad, who some know as Capades Jr (not because he skates but because he likes Matt Barzal) gave my wife run of the remote, it being mother's day and all!

That sedation potient I mixed in her desert should take effect aaaany minute now!
