If we watch games early cause of you guys, why can you do the same for us?

If you want to miss this game, it’s on you. But I’d be pretty disappointed.

I’ll still watch. I mean strategically it makes no sense for the league. Why miss out on the east coast TV audience on a Sunday? Game could easily start at 7 ET and also not conflict today’s NBA game

It has nothing to do with the NBA

In Vegas is there better on how many power plays the Oilers will get? Like over/under 5. And how long before the Oilers get their first PP? Over/under 2 minutes.
I see the oilers getting over 5 PPs and their first one they get will be inside of 2 minutes from the puck drop.

It’s been explained several times. ESPN and Turner split the first two rounds of the playoffs evenly. So far Turner has aired more second round games than ESPN. So ESPN has the rights to this game. However, ESPN also has a contractual time slot commitment to MLB for 7pm window for Sunday Night Baseball and they don’t want to bump the hockey game to ESPN2 (likely because it is in less homes). That left 10pm as the scheduled time.

The league knew problems like this would pop up when they signed the ESPN deal.

You’re a bigger man than me to explain it in that much depth, people will still be ignorant and keep asking instead of just looking it up lol

it still makes no sense it's one meaningless game out of a 162.

Baseball contract is likely worth much more and draws a bigger audience. You don’t take a 1980 Honda civic for a summer ride when you have a topless Porsche.

7pm isn’t a bad start time for the American fans (Vegas)

Vegas wins off goals from Pietrangelo and Kolesar but nobody sees them because they get scored at like midnight EST. Bettman then vows to remain commissioner for another 30 years.

How many viewers do they lose by having it on espn2 at 7:00pm vs espn at 10:00pm. I cant stay up for the whole game on east coast. I have to wake up early to face another hellscape work week like lots of people.

Youre only counting because their pp is lethal. 3/3 last game IIRC. Vegas was 2/5?

Pie and Coleslaw have shook this Edmonton team, if Vegas can play the strong physical game that’s won them 3 game so far this will be in the bag for them.

Edmonton struggles to play without letting the emotions get involved, Keep your teams nose clean Cassiday. Edmonton cant compete 5on5
The only person coleslaw shook is himself with a bone beaded major lmao

The well thought out approach might be for ESPN not to pick a Sunday game knowing the nation is riveted to the scintillation of the 15-25 last place Cards at Boston to face the murderous row of the 8 games out of 1st Red Sox

Soup is terrible. I know Skinner hasn't been good, but at least he plays the position correctly. He just needs to work on his high glove and protecting the posts. Campbell looks like a bad version of Dominic Hasek, and not because he is acrobatic, but because he is always wildly over or underplaying pucks like a rookie junior goalie. I am not sure why they signed that guy, but now they are stuck with that contract unless someone out there doesn't see what we are seeing.

I don't understand If the NHL is trying to grow the game why wouldn't they want this game to be on earlier in the day so more people have the opportunity to watch the best players in the game play.
It's the NHL's grand conspiracy to fix the games and grow the league. They can't make it TOO obvious :sarcasm:
