Both were very intentional and knew what they were doing
A cross-check that rides high is something that happens almost every game, often multiple times. It's not good, sometimes gets a major, but usually a minor penalty.

Two handers from above the head three seconds after the player releases the puck away from the play....honestly maybe a couple a season if that, and the ones that happen in other levels of hockey usually get a million views on TikTok or whatever because they are outrageous and rare.

This is some of the lamest homer logic I have ever waded through.

"My guy didnt cause any harm. Your guy didnt cause any harm, BUT HE WANTED TO!"

Unless Kane was following through (on a dead puck no less) how can you conclude anything but that this was an intentional crosscheck to the face to cause harm?
The crosscheck was intentional. No doubt about that. But the intent was to hit the shoulder, which it did before riding up and connecting with the face. It deserved the penalty that it received.

There are degrees, and it seems quite apparent that Pietrangelo had intent to take Draisaitl out whereas Kane had intent to make Pietrangelo big mad (which apparently worked.)

This is the case even if there is a laughing emoji that shows up below.

At no point did that xcheck touch the shoulder. It was directly to the chin. But I'm sure you asked Kane and he told you he was trying to hit the shoulder.

Odd that only the Oil fans think that was an innocent crosscheck, isnt it?
I'm not arguing if it's innocent or not, just countering that one point. The video has been reposted a bunch now where it clearly makes contact with shoulder and then rides up into the neck. I'm just too lazy to find it.

I don't know Evander Kane, and don't really have the connections to ask him that directly. I don't know why you would assume that.

I had to settle for the video like a pleb.

You are trying to tell me I am wrong despite evidence that proves I'm not.

"Gaslighters are seeking to gain power and control over the other person, by distorting reality and forcing them to question their own judgment and intuition."

If we have an argument, we must go to the evidence and not feelings. Kane did not get suspended. Petro did.

Obviously, someone agrees with my assessment beyong keyboard warriors who hate the Oilers for being so goddamn good.

Not innocent. Far from it. Almost no one believes it was. Just not worthy of a suspension. HUGE difference.

You are creating an argument and then having a fight with the argument you created.
By saying that hit isn’t suspension worthy it further proves that Pietrangelo only deserved one game. You can’t claim one was fine while the other deserved a stiffer peneary. No suspension to 1 game is about the difference between the hits than

Yes, I can.

One is not a suspension, the other is a suspension. This, according to the DoPS.

I can certainly argue that given one has been deemed "suspension-worthy", the number of games is now open for debate.

I can't argue that the one that was deemed "not suspension-worthy" deserves fewer games. It was not deemed suspension-worthy. It already received zero games for that reason.

The NHL itself says that the amount of games is debateable and dependent on the time of year the infraction occurs. So obviously even THEY debate it.

It is as worthy of a suspension as the slash. Argue about grazing the shoulder all you want, the head was the principle point of contact.

Are you guys really so insecure that you have to troll our forum and try to get us to see your rose colored glasses?
Huh?

Both the Kane crosscheck and Pietro plays were braindead, they aren't in the same stratosphere of stupid though.

I think the Makar play is the only one nearly as stupid as the Pietro whack since they were both not hockey plays at all.

Wonder if the other game going to OT is going to delay the start of this?

They are, but there’s no point in arguing about it

Not sure anybody is gonna be able to stop EDM if they can even play semi decent defense. The PP is just too good

I was about to say good PK by Vegas, and the puck goes in really off a nothing play.
