Those have to be my two least favorite refs in the league. But good news for Edmonton. They'll probably be blowing the whistle a lot.

Then I guess the Oiler fans and Knight fans have some common ground here.

I would bet a large sum that the Oilers are short handed more often than the Knights tonight.

I have a feeling Nurse will get at least 1 minor tonight.

The good news is that these 2 will probably disallow a goal for both teams, so both fanbases are upset.

Vikings find a land of basically just rock and ice and snow: "let's call this place greenland"

Vegas wouldn't like Leon when he's pissy, and he's about to get real pissy . . .

For all you young pups out there ;)

Maybe he can slash Parros....

And Leafs/Panthers get those tools from Wednesday tonight lol

Hyman could be waiting behind Huberdeaux to get out of the shitter and he would get a goalie interference penalty....

The deeper we go into the playoffs the more incompetent the officiating and the NHL overall are to handle being a major league sports is so totally obvious.
Their "player safety" is a friggin' joke.
Player safety does not take place in some office in New York or Toronto, it takes place on the ice.

If the two assholes who are chosen to officiate the game and cannot foresee a game spinning out of control due to ignoring the constant crosschecking, interference, attempt to injuring on the ice then get off of the ice.
You're in the way!
I know it's fine to be upset but what more could the refs have done last game? IMO they handled the on-ice events very well.. they would not have known that Pietrangelo would go chopping or Nurse would skate down for a fight.

The game misconducts they handed out to Yama/Kane and others trying to not play hockey was the best you could ask for.

IMO it was one of the better reffed games.

They’ll be blowing something

I'll take your word for it. All I know is they routinely f***ed the Ducks for years with no romance.
I don’t think they dislike any specific team, they just suck at their jobs

You're absolutely correct.

If the Oilers do it = no suspension. (see: Kane crosscheck to the face)
If Vegas do it = suspension. (see: Pietrangelo)

The Oilers have incentive to do it. Although I suspect the league warned them not to do it.
How does that explain the crosscheck that Bouchard took to the head? Your math is turrible.

Well said.

I *think* Edmonton can absorb the Nurse loss more easily than Vegas can recover from a Pietrangelo loss, but if we're sitting here postgame and Kulak or Broberg had a terrible game, I'll be pretty pissed with Nurse.

I think it's stupid that he got tagged for an instigator for a fight both guys wanted, but he still has to be smarter and more aware that the possibility was there.
That last line sums it up. I do wonder if there was any chatter on the bench about not starting anything in the final 5. That could be Woodcroft's inexperience there. Things were definitely getting dialed up, and you'd hope that a reminder was given - especially since the game was out of reach.

There was a clip going around of Draisaitl on the bench after the slash saying something along the lines of "I'm fine. I'm good. Don't do anything" and Nurse was in a fight not even a minute later. Dummy.

Kane is probably in the box the first time he hits anyone.
I'll do you one better. He'll get a misconduct the first time he gets hit.

Yeah. They showed that during the game on the SN feed - but I'm talking about specifically reminding them about the potential for suspensions. Nurse should know better, but the coaching staff should also know that Nurse sometimes goes rogue.

I think game 5 is very down to business. the NHL is sending two of its most senior officials to this game and I think they're going to lock down any nonsense right off the bat.

Game 6 with Pietrangelo back in the lineup and one of these teams on the ropes ...now that could get nasty.
How do they do that?

The right move was to suspend Pietrangelo for the series.

But you think a parade to the box is gonna solve anything when one team is operating at 60%?

I'm not a fan of the automatic offsetting misconducts. Yamamoto was being interfered with by a player on the bench. It's a bad look to give the player being interfered with an equal penalty, and it sets a tone a team can go for the "favourable tradeoff"-type penalties.
