Honestly, give Eakins a chance on the broadcast. I kind of like his insight.

A good friend of mine is well connected with the ducks organization, he's a new man. The ducks core from McTavish, Zegras, and Terry down to veterans like Henrique and Silverberg all love Eakins. Thought around that organization is that Eakins tried to be someone he wasn't in Edmonton emulating the prototypical NHL coach he grew up with in Keenan Babcock Hitchcock Suttter etc.

I've talked with Eakins before, honestly he's quiet, reserved, and well spoken by nature. And sure he's a bad NHL coach, but even still he's an elite hockey coach in the scheme of things and has valuable insight.

And let's be honest... The Oilers club he coached was unarguably filled with Wünderkind superstars who'd never been criticised in their entire life, and were likely part of the problem.
