it's not like he'll avoid having pucks hit him... that..can..be used to..our ..advantage

i am quite sure if both Greene (6'3 232lbs) & Schultz (6'6 230lbs) just stand infront of the net good things will happen... just writing this..i didn't know how to finish this thought , God we're in trouble lol

I am hoping Schultz realizes this is probably his last kick at the cat, and if he wants to stay in the lineup he will have to play physical and smart.
Maybe he will play better than I am expecting.

I think every time the puck is on his stick in our own zone he should do one thing and one thing only clear the puck. Noooooo passes straight up hit the boards and clear it out. I don't care if any of our guys are open keep it simple.

The ducks are down a pretty good stay at home guy also in Robidas.

I'll worry once we are exposed, not until.

Don't know who this guy is BUT
@stevelepore: Joe Micheletti still unavailable. Brian Hayward will sub in again for Kings-Ducks tonight.

Hope hayward points out more ineffective Kings players

Which proves NBC only hires those that make the Goon Squad sound good...

unfortunately Schultz makes gaborik look like a power forward

never understood how many huge guys don't like to hit/don't hit effectively.

Well for me it was after I knocked a friend out cold in a pillow fight, years and years ago, I started "pulling my punches" if you will.

Schultz is probably the right choice. Sutter isn't looking for too much. Just try to be decent on defense, Kings don't really need offense from the open spot... doesn't want someone to go out of the way to level a hit and give up a 2 on one.

Hey who knows Schultz could come out on fire and get a chance to have a team pick him up next year!?!? Ok just as long as he doesn't fall over turning around for a puck like he did in that clip...

edit: Won last time with 5 D including Greene so if Schultz is doing terrible could just run with 5D again?

Barring no OT, all we need is about 12-15 minutes from him. We should be fine.....

The best quote of the night was when Hayward said something along the lines of "The Kings are doing what they do best now and that's playing the antagonist. And it's all led by their captain Dustin Brown."

He mad.

About Schultz, does anyone have any relevant stats on his past year in Man? Looks like he did decently, he's a plus 10 in 60ish games. I'm trying to stay positive, he spent a year within out system, working with our staff, maybe he's finally able to turn it around a bit. My biggest worry is that he won't have the fire everyone else has from this win streak, and he has no true, personal stake in these playoffs. But maybe the fact that this may be his last chance to prove he can be an nhl player will inspire him.

On the plus side he's HUGE. Maybe he learned how to hit and poke check in Manchester?

Is Schultz really a better option than McNabb or Bodnarchuk?

Hes not, this is one of the instances where a severe lack of skill and hockey IQ is swept under the rug because of experience which is a stupid move, both players are better options but a poor coaching decision to play someone who is bad because of experience. It's a bad move by DS. The paranoia and doubt in young kids is crazy, Schultz hasn't even played a game as a king. We will see how he does.

The only complaint I've heard regarding Schultz this year is his foot speed. I'm honestly expecting a solid game from him tonight. The guy is ready to go.

Schultz's interview scared me a bit. He said something along the lines of trying to help the Kings in the playoffs, almost like he is some kind of outsider they found on Craig's List. Usually a player will refer to the team as "We, Us or Our". It's not much, but it just sat funny with me.

I'm just hoping that if he does completely **** the bed today that they wouldn't hesitate trying someone else next game.

He is an outsider though. To him "us and we" is Manchester.
Eh, I remember Ellerby saying "us and we" right off the bat. It's the playoffs and I'm not comfortable with somebody with an outsider mindset in the lineup. I want him to give everything he has for us and fully commit, same reason why Lombardi was picky about getting a ban-aid at the deadline who might not be fully devoted to us.

KK wants the Kings to lose because of Schultz so he'll never play again.

He also said he's worked his entire season for the opportunity
Code:
and thought it would never come so he's extremely grateful. I wouldn't put much stock into what players say to reporters TBH.

If he has a good game, all will be forgotten. Maybe KK11 is just stressing me out about Schultz. lol

Schultz might be slow, but he's never had a low hockey IQ. It's one of his stronger points, if anything. Unless he's completely lost it over the last year. But then, Morris only had good things to say about him and his play so I don't think that's the case. I think it's a confidence issue more than anything.

Also, if DS was paranoid about young kids, Pearson would be on the bench and Nolan would be in there. This sounds more like a bash the coaching moment veiled under the guise of analysis.
