GDT: WCQF: Game 5 - Colorado Avalanche @ Dallas Stars | 7:30 MT

This game is over. Came out flat, stupid and unprepared.
Nothing is over - they have to take control of this game in the 2nd.
Yeah I don't see them coming back down 2-0 in Dallas after those goals go in. You know they're going to score a PPG, too.

They'll need 4 to win and I don't see 4 being scored tonight.

I've had a long moving day. See ya'll for game 6.
Don't you ever get tired of being wrong?

1st goal, goes off Dodonov's foot 3 feet inside the redline, hits the top of the glass, no one knows where it is, comes down to Johnston who throws it off the back of MBW's head and it goes in.

2nd goal, Harley throws a shot, it gets deflected, 50 feet in the air, comes straight down, hits the crossbar, and defects back towards MBW who has no idea where the puck went, off his back, and goes in.

I have been watching the game for 30 some years, and those are two of the flukiest goals I have ever seen, and they happen in the same period to the same team/goalie.

Even Liles see's that the Avs are playing like shit. He's blaming the turnover at the blue line and not it just being "unlucky".
The turnover at the blue line, along with bad goaltending for the 2 goals for sure.

But they still played an ok period

However the rest of the playoffs go, we need to for next season focus on not playing makar and mackinnon such insane TOI in the regular season. You can tell by playoff time that the last couple years they are just a little bit gassed in these games.

Nope, just smart.

Its very easy to tell when it isn't meant to be. Tonight, we're not meant to win.

This. If you've watched the Avs for any particular amount of time, especially the playoff Avs, you'll know within the first 10 mins of the game if they will win or not. It's rarely a judgement on the score, but how they are playing overall....I don't like what i have seen so far.

I've been saying he needs to be promoted for a while now. I know the 4th line has been great, but how do you not elevate your leading scorer?
He wins puck battles and goes into the corners.. something nobody else on that line does. Its too much one and done for that line

Loosing the Puck and trying to pass through 3 sticks is not okay. Necas is a huge problem right now, he has speed and nothing else. The 4 line is just fighting in the corners and generates nothing. The 3rd line is flubbing the Puck all over the place. The ice doesn't help, but this is horrendous hockey. Dallas made adjustments and we have no answers. It'll probably take Bednar another 3 games to change anything and that'll be next season.

It's not perfect, but Dallas wasn't dictating what they did either. Avs still had time and space to make plays. They weren't forced to dump every puck in. They generated some chances.

That's an ok road period IMO. Minus those couple shifts where they lost their focus and the flukey bounces.

Yeah… they have never comeback to win a game ever.

I still highly disagree with that. Dallas is limiting our chances and we're absolutely playing their game right now. We might get a ton of shots, but nothing will be dangerous. We'll continue to refuse to screen Otter and we're in for a ton of unscreened shots from bad angles.... Unless we're on the PP. Then we'll force it to Lehky in the slot, and he'll take a bad unscreened shot.

I would totally agree with you if that was an accurate description of how the period played out. But it wasn’t.

I think they are dictating the play and playing us like a fiddle. Other than the second line, I hated every shift. Unless someone wants to go to the blue and actually fight, I don't like our chances at all.
