ROR was late covering the shooter.Wide open in front of the net. This team can't defend to save its life.

40+ foot shot with a defender taking part of the lane isn't exactly a layup. Nothing about Sissons missing that shot explains leaving Canucks shooters wide open for three of their goals. The failure to clear the zone cost us in both games in Nashville. Team defense is the issue with this season's edition. 3rd most goals allowed (near/at team worst in 5on5, 4on4, and against an empty net), 4th worst PK%.We can talk about Saros all we want but that was some BS defending including by the heart and soul ROR. I'm on the trade Saros train before his value further tanks but come on.
Hat tip to Sissons for missing what was more or less a layup ENG.
Well that 4th goal is just bad bad defense.
That is the worst playoff loss I have seen since the Chicago loss. This one stings badly.
GUTS !!!!! Vancouver has it! Down to your 3rd string goalie! Down 3 to 1 with 3 min left and they pull it out. History. Can we change our name now this a good time to cleanse us that name that does not hold up well. Nashville Panteras .
2 Losses in a row where failure to clear by the defense has essentially shortly led to a goal and both those goals were daggers.
We've gotta clear our heads but going to be hard to bounce back in Vancouver after that loss. I think the season ends in 5, pretty sure I voted for that before anyways.
That being said, we were the better team on paper for these last two games and just some really bonehead plays lost us two close games. We're still 1-2 pieces away from contending it seems like.
Yeah, tonight's collapse aside this is pretty much the deal.We got in as a bubble team with admitted issues. We can play competitive hockey, but lack that next level to take control and dominate. We're mad that we're losing one goal games where we can point out individual moments that cost us .... we're not getting blown out and somehow a division winner isn't owning us for 50+ minutes a night.
We had the better goalie on paper. Up and down the roster, not so much. This is an underdog team that needs to play near perfect to get through this series and the defensive lapses of all season are getting exploited this series.

Your the one that had a little temper tantrum on me posting ! lol Everyone is different in the way they try to get a point across. Iam highly critical , I point out our weakness into the ether In hopes Its gets fixed. This is a message board about sports this is what happens . It is not your Cult of group think. Can you express a cogent thought or is this quoted post the best you have to offer? It isn't even a real sentence and lacks anything resembling a point.
I could lower myself to personal attacks but I shall refrain.
On a different note Sizzler was pretty much right at the faceoff dot so more like 20 feet. I'll grant he was on the backhand and had a little pressure, but that should be buried. Not that it should have mattered that much.40+ foot shot with a defender taking part of the lane isn't exactly a layup. This is a competitive team that is coming up just short against a division winner. About what is expected as a wild card ... except for Vegas and their mass LTIR return.
That is exactly what I was thinking ,this gives Trotz a prime example to see what this team needs. If you were a Perds fan, then this was the mother of all games for you.
However, this series, along with the season overall, is showing Trotz what he needs and also making some easier decisions for him.
On the positive, the vibe in the arena was pretty good until it wasn't good. Much better than Friday. We'll see if the boys roll over or decide to sack up and bring this thing back to Nashville.
That's all I have for now.

I mean, as happy as everyone is with ROR this year for example (and he was good), he is our clear #1 center and is 26th in the league for center scoring. That's #1 center territory technically but not really what a contending team is looking for. 12 of the other 15 playoff teams have a higher scoring center (and Eichel easily would have been if not for 20 missed games so effectively 13). Many including the Nucks have 2. I know he brings other things to the table but he's basically a really solid 2C on a contender. Honestly the Preds only have one forward (Forsberg) who should really be playing on a top line for a team expecting to make a run. And it's not as if the forward depth is anything to write home about.
Defense corps is better (defense depth can look a little rough across the league- I'm pretty OK with ours all things considered even if Schenn and Lauzon certainly have their moments), but frankly it's a bit miraculous this team is even in the position it is given the star goalie had his worst season in.. maybe his career? And to kind of drive the point home it took a borderline miracle run to get here.
I think Brunette did a pretty great job this year, the problem going forward is that it's really murky whether the prospect pool is ready to take the next step which will have to happen sooner than later as the big club is not getting any younger at this point.
Absolute fraud team that has no business in the playoffs.
That "20 feet" doesn't account for the lateral distance. On the dot is approx 39 feet to the far post.On a different note Sizzler was pretty much right at the faceoff dot so more like 20 feet.
