Carter is definitely injured. I was so stoked he was hot coming into the playoffs. FFS...

Gonna have to come out with the same energy to start the 2nd period and grab the lead. The Kings can't let Vegas get comfortable at all in this game.

Great period, but no goal to show for it does not bode well.

VGK too good to get run over like that for a whole game.

If we don't get to 2 goals before 10 min into the next period, I don't like the odds.

Offense is more important. Kopitar, Brown and Carter are our most important offensive players. They're all in there 30's. Making them wast energy on the PK is dumb. Their primary use should be in offensive roles.

That's part of the reason the Kings got less effective as game 3 went on. They had overplayed their top players.

Both guys pretty much killed that penalty on their own and have been out on the pk for 10 years. It's nothing new for them, and they know how to manage their energy.

And that’s really the problem with going down 0-2 much less 0-3. All Fleury needs to do is steal a game. Doesn’t matter how good we play.
but this is also why we play a series

we've seen the progressive weardown on the knights in every game and now we're seeing it on the series level

i'm not saying down 0-3 is ideal by any means nor that the kings have executed this plan: but there's an element of playing to win a game and an element of playing to win a series

For those that like this sort of thing, 33-7 corsi in the 1st period, and it looked like it.

0 goals to show for it means bad things for the Kings though.

Killing penalties is a little important, too.
There's more players that can kill penalties than there is players that can score goals.

It's better to have dedicated PKer's so you scorers aren't wasting energy. Specialization is more efficient. It would be like Crosby, Malkin, and Kessel being the Pens main penalty killers. That would be dumb.

Are we seriously complaing about Kopitar and Brown killing penalties, even though they've done it for years, EVEN when the team won the cup etc?

Is this what it's reduced to?

To be fair it's a bigger deal when playing a team who spreads their minutes out so evenly. See the end of the last game for an example.

I'd rather Kopitar not breach 20, can't have him pacing himself, need guys to go balls out.

But I'd never NOT use him on the PK, not on this team.

thank god that cbj game finally ended so i can stop watching this game on this terrible nbc app
