They weren’t looking to clean house. They were looking for scapegoats while simultaneously handing the keys of the car to the players. Like you say, players got the coach they wanted, Doughty’s gonna get the contract he wants, etc.

You can't blame Luc for firing Lombardi. If you want to blame him for having his buddy replace Lombardi that is certainly valid but Dean had to go, he had completely lost his mind and his moves were starting to significantly hurt the team in the present and for the future.

Remember I said it doesn't mean Dean Lombardi shouldn't have been let go.

I blame Luc for angling for Dean's job for a number of years and being able to convince anyone he can actually handle it. As I said, there is no love lost there.
