We also went through the entire league in 22' with the most dominant Cup win in decades. That should instill some confidence right? I remember people giving up on this team after one loss then too.

They were up in the third, and one goal away in OT from going up 2-0 in the series. I don't think there was an expectation to sweep the series or even the first two games was there?

I do agree Nelson hasn't been good enough and they've long had a problem with burying their chances though. Still I thought they were the better team again for 2/3 of the game.

Regroup, put Necas with Nelson, get our heart and soul captain back, and we go again.

We should not have to tell JB to put Necas with Nelson. That was obvious to everyone long ago. Instead we have Bednar being a shit for brains coach. This guy is a world class dumb ass. I have no patience for idiocy.

This place is insufferable after a loss. All the usual bullshit comes out with the DeBoer stans. I've never seen fans of a team get such a raging boner over a coach who has not won a championship. It was one game. They were more desperate than we were and it took OT. We were one goal away from a 2-0 series lead against a team that most of this place have been petrified of for years. Dallas were never going to roll over and die. We dominated the first two periods and they turned it up in the third and we were still just one goal away. People acting like we aren't contenders because we lost an away game to one of the best teams in the league? We are the only team so far with a road win.

Back to home ice with home ice advantage and the return of Landy. Let's go.

You an argue it 9 ways to Sunday. It was still a loss that should not have been. That’s the bottom line.

You have an idiot coach that still hasn’t recognized Drouin and Nuke belong with Mack and Lehky and Necas belong with Nelson. JB needs to stop trying to make Necas the new Rants. Get Necas on the second line and get that second line going. That’s been obvious for weeks. It’s inexcusable not to have come up with a serviceable second line by now and with the personnel we have For God sake, put Malinski in. EJ is not going to be a consistent starter through the POs. Also really tired of the pre-game immature and unprofessional behavior coming from JB. If he wants to be a tease then he can go back to junior high. He’s a GD coach of an NHL club. He needs to carry himself like it. SMH!

Dominated? We didn't "dominate" shit. The stats were almost identical until Dallas took over in the 2nd half of the game. There's only one team that dominated in this game and it wasn't us.

This same stuff from internet coaches. Bednar knows more about the ins and outs of coaching teams, what goes on in practices, in the locker room, who fits where, who has chemistry etc than everyone on this forum combined. Everytime we lose suddenly Bednar is an idiot. It's f***ing tiresome. Bednar is one of the best coaches in the league. You think if things were that obvious he wouldn't do it? Same shit when rantanen was here. People banging on about rants being the 2c for years like it was some silver bullet. Quite clearly he either didn't want to be or wasn't suited to be a 2c. Now we have people here second guessing where Necas should be because of feels on the Internet. There are probably reasons for having EJ in the lineup tonight over malinski. He's a more physical presence and it was obvious Dallas would eventually turn up the physicality in their desperation to win.

DeBoer targeted the Girard-EJ pairing so hard last night it was painful. It's going to be nice to get back to Denver where Bednar can control the matchups.

Just win your damn home games. Avs are the more rested team, going up into the altitude, with the upcoming Landeskog bump and Bednar being able to control matchups.

Bednar getting MacKinnon & Makar out there against the Bichsel - Petrovic pairing should be fun.

Ughh I couldn't stay up for this one (East Coast time) and I'm pissed. Thought they would be hold onto the win after going into the 3rd with the lead.

Really curious to see how Bednar adjusts. It's unacceptable that he has had weeks to figure out the top six and it still looks like it's in a funk. We won't go far without getting these guys going.

The Lindgren-Manson pairing has been money but it might be time to separate them and pair them with Girard and Malinski. EJ doesn't have enough left in his tank to compensate for Girards weaknesses and its showing.

Give me a break with your being a JB fan boy. Did you think the second line worked? The second line was identified as an issue long ago. That was when he was supposed to fix it. It’s obvious you’re not going to win the SC without being able to roll four effective lines. So why is he trying to fit a square peg in a round hole? The SC POs as a whole are physical. You really think that means EJ should be playing every game?

I'm not a fan boy of anyone really except Makar. But I do realize there's a reason we are consistently a top team in this league and that's due to Bednar and his systems. I'll defer to him on coaching decisions over anyone else because he has all the experience and context needed to make these lineup decisions. Do I think EJ should play every game? No probably not. I imagine he gets rested in one of these home games where Bednar can control the matchups better.

You aren't in trouble in the playoffs until you lose at home. Win the next game and things look good

Notably you ducked my question about the second line and you’re just going to defer to JB. He’s human you know. Not the be all end all.

I didn't duck it, sorry I forgot to reply to that part. No the second line is a non factor so far and we need them to get going. Let's see what happens on home ice I guess. JB is human I agree, he's a heavy analytics guy and a smart dude, there may be reasons we don't see that keep Necas off Nelson's wing. But let's see how this series unfolds.

Without Heiskanen and Robertson, icing the defense the Stars are icing, then throw in all the benefits of being the home team and having Landeskog back. I'm going to be disappointed if the Avs don't win both games 3 and 4.

Hoping for two wins on the road right out of the gate was always probably wishful thinking. Stars have a very good forward group and when they get last change and can target the bottom of our roster, they're going to have opportunities.

Not hitting the panic button, but a frustrating loss. And there better be adjustments for game 3.
This is where I am. Frustrated but not panicking. It's frustrating but nobody goes 16-0 to the cup and were not yet in a series deficit.

I am quite disappointed in Nelson looking so lost. I watched someone review his plays offensive and defensive when we acquired him and was like oh he's at least a smart defensive player when not producing.. But he's been a negative for me

Brother, if even Stevie Wonder can see the top six should be

27-29-13
62-11-88

Except Bednar, don't you think there is a problem?

There's absolutely NO WAY Landy can skate at the speed and intensity level displayed by tonights OT period. PERIOD.
Apparently neither can Wood or EJ.

Why even bother going through the motions of activating him? If he can't play, he can't play. So I've got to call BS on this, they wouldn't activate him if they didn't think there was any chance of him actually playing. 2 more days of rest isn't going change this, they just wanted the Disney ending of him coming back at home.

Like I said, the second line has been a non-factor for awhile now. JB’s pigheaded insistence on sticking with what clearly hasn’t worked and isn’t working makes no sense whatsoever. That’s legit criticism and I don’t care that he has coached a SC championship team. He isn’t above it.
