Going to try to stay up for this one (doesn't start until 9:30 here) and I have to get up at 5. Luckily I have a coworker willing to drive on our route tomorrow. Go Kings Go!

really I do not see that at all.

I am worried about Lucic, Doughty and Quick losing there cool. They have more of a recent history doing so IMO

That's why I'm worried about Meier.

He has a history of not making the first call, and calling the retaliation or both.

...I guess that means we need to initiate instead ;) But really that means I'm worried someone is gonna bump Quick or take liberties with Doughty/Kopi.

respect is one thing, acting like the series is already over is something else entirely. maybe the naysayers jumped on board after 2014? who knows. this Kings team has done enough for me to not doubt them against any team, regardless of how much other teams have improved

Yeah that's not happening, no need for hyperbole.

I just have a deeper respect for how this Sharks team is built and I think people are sleeping on them. They've got a DEEP d-core (their previous weakness), a wildcard but definitely an upgrade in goal, and they've sheltered their gutless forwards and done wonders with them in other cases--Marleau is simply a depth player at this point, Thornton is a beast but also riding shotgun with Pavelski, Hertl and Donskoi have really emerged this year, Ward is a playoff beast, etc.

ON PAPER, they're the better team, honestly (minus Quick). But we know how little that really means, how much of the mental and physical persistence is part of the game in the playoffs, and how much some of our guys can actually step up vs. how they've been playing (i.e. we've been playing lame since clinching, while SJ has been a juggernaut since New Years, but being overlooked because of the Ducks). Doesn't mean we don't have faith or anything like that, far from it--I just believe this year will be the toughest playoff year of them all for these guys.

its not hyperbole in the least, read some of the posts in the playoff threads in this sub or on the mainboard. there are a LOT of them

John Shannon [cbc] on the nhl network : Can Drew Doughty, after getting all the votes for the Norris yesterday, be the guy who can control a game? Does he already know something we don't?

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree. I get it, you want to "respect" the opponent. But you know what? **** the Sharks and their fans. I don't have any Shark fan friends. I don't live near any. I don't work with any. The only place I am ever in the same area with them outside of an actual game at Staples is a damn IP address on the internet. Can the Kings lose to these guys? Of course, but I'm not going to rationalize the defeat before it even happens just so I can feel better about it and be able to post on the main boards without shame. **** them all. Go Kings go!

That's what I wanna see!

Go Kings go!!

Put this ****ing teal core away for good.

Hope I'm wrong, but it really feels like the Kings could out-Shark the Sharks here based on the last 10 games of the season. Hopefully "the switch" is real.
