GDT: WCQF Game 1: San Jose Sharks @ Los Angeles Kings | Thursday, Apr 14 2016 - 7:30PM

I have a sick feeling that this game is going to be a blow-out, either in favor of the Sharks or Kings. Whenever these two play, its wide open hockey. This game will not end in a 3-2 score.

Also, I agreed with the prior poster, the Sharks are going to come out balls to the wall. Kings need to weather the storm and consistently play Kings hockey for 60 minutes. No reactionary plays or cheating because the Sharks get a quick goal or whatever else might happen in the first period.

On Brent Burns, and whether it is “difficult” for players to move from forward to defense:
It hasn’t looked very difficult for him. There are only a handful of guys in the history of the game that’ve done it successfully. Not many guys can do it. But it hasn’t looked hard for him. It looks like he enjoys it. [Reporter: What do you think the hardest part about that is?] Moving from forward to defense.

not sure what you mean. They are deep skilled team that matches up well against LA. They are a different group then the group that got reversed swept, and always bring their best effort against LA.

This will be a challenge.
 
Which period will Mcnabb get his first penalty? I'm thinking the first, something lame like puck over the glass and his second one will be holding or something.

I've said this elsewhere this team is one of the only ones I see that can play 19:45 of a period completely dominating during that time. Make one mistake for :15 seconds and be tied or down a goal.
So sadly they can't even take a few seconds off in any period.
 
McNabb will get a hooking or holding within the first 30 seconds.
Muzzin or Martinez will get a delay of game penalty by shooting it over the glass when they had plenty of other optionsin the last few minutes of a period

They're also mentally weak and start gooning it up at the first sign of adversity.
 
Sutter has been in playoff press conference mode right from the hop. Some classic lines already.

My favorite is still from Game 3 '14 SCF post game:

Q: On how it felt playing with the lead (LA was down early and won the previous four games)

Sutter: "We're used to it"

I think he goes right to the hold or interference within 7 minutes of the 1st period.

Darkhorse candidate is a high stick.

you know it's ok to respect the skill level of other teams right? I was not worried about the sharks before the 2014 matchup (I was after the first 2 games though), I am this year.
Why? They are a better team than 2014 and I am not sure LA is.

respect is one thing, acting like the series is already over is something else entirely. maybe the naysayers jumped on board after 2014? who knows. this Kings team has done enough for me to not doubt them against any team, regardless of how much other teams have improved
