One of the 3 goals were pretty weak, but honestly the Wings failed to clear it or coughed it up on the outlet at least a dozen times in the 3rd... not to mention Quincey running around like an idiot every time he's on the ice.

Quincey is complete garbage. Brendan Smith is covering up for his **** ups. Our defense sucks and when you are playing 4 on 5 for much of the period you can't turtle and protect a lead. We tried our best though. :shakehead

I've been backing up Howard non-stop since his contract, but he's proven me wrong tonight. You can see how timid he is. He's sitting way back in the crease and just praying the puck hits him.

They showed a close up of him after I think the 3rd goal. He looked terrified. Like someone just ran over his dog twice.

Glad I didn't see much of this game. I honestly can't say I'm too upset - If we actually make a series out of this thing, Holland will just stick his head deeper in the sand. Maybe if the wheels really fall off, he'll actually put un his big boy pants and, you know, do his job.

After letting in those softies, Howard was very very deep in his crease

he completely lost his confidence

This went from dream to nightmare.

I'd rather just lose like game 1 than have this go south. If the Wings don't pull this out, it's a devastating blow.

That's why a guy like Emmerton shouldn't touch the ice in the third period. Yet he did, what twice or three times and led to three goals?

Not the best coaching there. Play the big boys in a must win PK, not Cory ****ing Emmerton.

It's not like those 3 goals were non-stoppable goals though.

Getzlaf -> chest shot
Palmieri -> he had his glove right there
Ryan -> moved away from the side of the net for no reason

save one of those and we win

It's great that Howie just got the new deal of his.. :shakehead $5.3M cap hit for perfomances like this. I know that Howie's mostly been good, but that's not enough if you let in softies like tonight.

We've scored early each period so far. Lets just do it one more time.

God knows Howard won't forgive us if we don't.

Its mind boggling that Babcock even considers Smith-Quincey as an option, let alone actually playing them together consistently. Too bad Ian White doesn't make the 6'0" cut.

Kenny Holland bet on Jimmy as a franchise goalie.

I ain't saying he can't be one.

But questions about Jimmy Howard are not going away so far in these playoffs.

My concern is the mentality.

Jimmy Howard, toward the end of the third, looked like Dominic Hasek against Nashville in 08.

Even outside of tonight's debacle, I hope to god Babcock didn't stunt Smith's development by pairing him with Qunicey so much. This crap has been going on all season.

Does Babcock think that timeouts gain cash value if you hold onto them or something? Did I miss him calling it? I don't understand.
