A couple weak calls against Oilers sure but 5-1 has more to do with Dallas sacrificing aggressiveness for not giving edmonton PP than biased reffing.

There were some stick on gloves and clutches they could've called against Dallas to even it up a bit but there really wasn't anything major from Dallas that was an automatic penalty
i mean sure, you could say the same thing for the oilers with the exception of the mcdavid call. Which, should of been a 2 minute for duchene and 4 for mcdavid. End of the day though, just bad linesman and officiating.

Skinner is a colossal headcase and I'll be interested to see if him shitting the bed against Vancouver was just Canucks-based mental block. I don't expect him to play like this every night, though--even if Oettinger was still the better goalie tonight imo.
No he’s not. You just don’t know how to read blame on goals.

Youd think, but also who cares? I dont get the complaining behind this. Its not stopping the flow of the game or anything else. Fans would have a legit complaint to make if the coaches couldnt challenge a missed play that resulted in the OT goal, this eliminates that.

Another thing I think they wanna avoid is like earlier in the year when Edmonton and whoever left the ice and the teams were undressing before it was ruled a no goal.... Then they had to wait for the player to come back.

The Oilers are PK merchants. Stars in 5

Rofl.

Refs after “reviewing” the game winning goal: ‘call on the ice stands, good goal’. Don’t the fans deserve to know what you were reviewing? Joke of a league. Trying to find a something out of nothing. Oilers 1 - NHL 0
I think a potential missed game stoppage for a high stick by hyman

Oh ya, I forgot all about that. Was against the Islanders and the Oilers ended up losing in the SO anyway. It was very strange watching it happen and I'll certainly never forget about it. :sarcasm:

I’m just so glad that Skinner played a very good game. Can’t blame him for either goal. Bad giveaway and bad bounce.

Garlic had the trust in him.

I thought real time the play was way offside and TBH if you watch their celebration it was sort of subdued for an OT winner. I think even they were not sure initially

No way I'm missing watching Oil fans cry about the refs for anything.
Canucks fans cried about reffing on a level I have never seen in the NHL playoffs. It was as if the entire fanbase had never watched a playoff game before.

Seeing the replay from this angle... Holloway totally had him here.

I think he honestly didn't expect Otter to bite on the backhand move and was going to slip it 5 hole. If he held the puck a second longer he tucks it in just inside the post, but at top speed that is hard to blame a guy

I tell you hwat, if Skinner plays like this the rest of the way, Edmonton can do this. He was so bad against Vancouver, and wasn't all that convincing against LA either for the most part, but if he has a good stretch in him, it could change everything. McJesus just scored the biggest goal of his career too. Pretty much by default, but ok. Dallas has another gear in them, though, but this could be a better series than most expect.

Poor McDavid.

The guy played and has been playing excellent on both sides of the puck. Team game. Team is winning in the playoffs. 2 points, + 2 tonight… all ES. He is not producing at an abnormal pace… only 23 points in 13 games, 1.77 p/gp…

poor McDavid… give me a f***ing break.
thats so typical of him to say that, Yeah, poor McDavid, he must be feeling pretty poor after that OT goal in the stanley cup playoffs. Another bitter Canuck fan. LOL:DD

You're not wrong. But at most this game maybe should have been 1 or 2 powerplays each if not zero outside of the McDavid high stick. Really the only deserved penalties were McDavid's and Dallas' on the too many men because the guy played the puck 20 feet from his bench when his guy was still 10 feet from getting off the ice.

What was that play by Lindell on the Oilers 2nd goal? Tanev makes a terrific play then Benn + Lindell both skate by the puck, and it leaks through Oettinger.

Feel like Oettinger is the Oilers real opportunity in this series.

That was a huge statement win by the Edmonton Oilers, I might have underestimated the defensive toughness of the Oilers. Hey I know its only one game but after tonight's performance I feel way more confident about Edmonton's chances.
Ekholm and Bouchard becoming a legit top pairing over the season has shifted things a lot.

If last playoffs, his season and this playoffs thus far hasn't been enough, I hope this series shows people that Bouch is an absolute stud.

He has more points than any forward in the playoffs not named McDavid or Draisaitl. So, I think it is pretty clear right now.

They talked about it a lot tonight. Stars were flying the zone all game as soon as they saw a defenseman with the puck. They just assumed Hyman wasn't going to get that puck back.
