Ray Ferraro suggested that if Richards returns to the lineup on Tuesday, the player he'd take out would be Dwight King. Judging from the results of tonight, there is only one line I would leave intact, and that's the new top line of Penner, Carter, and Toffoli.

Why not try the following:

Penner-Carter-Toffoli
Richardson-Kopitar-Brown
Clifford-Richards-Williams
Nolan/King/Fraser-Stoll-Lewis

Since Kopitar and Brown are playing line anchors, maybe the speed and chippy play of Brad Richardson could wake them up (I also like Richardson's motor of late). Richards had some chemistry with Clifford and I'd rather try Clifford with Richards and Williams over what other options Sutter has at leftwing.

I thought Richardson had a good game, he seemed to be making things happen.

I think that's what upsets me most when guys are playing so badly. Quick wants this more than anyone and he'd never throw the team under the bus no matter how much they look like ****. I just want them to win for him, to show up, to play their game.

That interview is heartbreaking, and he looks utterly spent. But he's the most competitive player on that team and you know he'll play his ass off on Tuesday. This will motivate him, I can only hope his teammates follow suit. How can anybody not love everything about this guy, his attitude, his leadership. Just a real pro...

If Kopi isn't 100% (which is almost a given) than shouldn't he be getting less minutes (less taxing on him) not more?
Wouldn't it be better to make a few moves in the lines to create something like that? He's not an asset if he's injured, tired, worn and playing too many minutes.
Did Sutter has a post game presser? I didn't see it on TV only the HAwks.

I thought Crawford looked like a little nancy backing down from a challenge. He goes to head lock clifford but he's too scared to have a throw down with Bernier.

Pretty bad ass.

Hawks fan coming in peace.

I don't see the upside of Crow throwing down there. In a close game, yeah. But when the game is winding down and your team is close to taking a 2-0 series lead and you're playing well, why risk getting thrown out or hurt, you know?

I don't think he went after him to fight as much as he was trying to make sure Toews didn't do anything idiotic with a good fighter.

haha awesome

Richards has been a different player at home, if he can't go, the Kings will miss him more in games 3 and 4 than they did tonight.

The nice thing is we have a player like Toffoli to put in there, especially on the PP.

Amazing to think TT wouldn't have been in there without the injury, it's pathetic on our staffs part.

This. TT has been outstanding and put forth a huge effort in every game he has played. We need that kind of energy right now. This was a big miss by our staff.

Also, Martinez has not been playing well. Penner I thought looked good. Carter good. Brown was hitting, just hasn't found the net yet. Stoll and Clifford were making some noise with hitting and Fraser was instigating in there.

There are some bright spots on this team and I think they are overlooked because we haven't scored. LA is just going to have to go for garbage goals right now and get deeper in the lanes. This far into the playoffs, goals get harder to come by as the competition gets thicker. We need some scoring from more than our top lines. I'm optomistic we can tie this series at home but we need to get our bearings and push them through...

I really liked Clifford and Fraser together. That's part of an energy line to me. But Richardson played well tonight as well. I think they were getting under BH skin and we need something to disrupt them.

Toffoli is going to be a stud for us next season. Only RWer having a poor postseason offensively is Brown...he's just not producing for whatever reason.

Toff is a Gem always gonna be reppin' BMOUUUNTTTTTT

I'm guessing you probably didn't get an A in that class, did you?

These Kings are learning about the facts of (hockey) life. If they keep up their consistency of losing games on the road, here's hoping they do the same at home.

Brown and Kopitar are 30 points behind last year. Think about that one.

That is why the kings are not getting past the hawks. Quick was able to steal a couple of series against weaker opponents, but not against the hawks.

Kopitar has a knee issue all season and looks like a groin injury from compensating for the knee injury. Brown looks healthy, just doesn't have his normal center. Brown looked good on the third line.

Sutter would never do this, but might as well see what you have on the farm:

Penner-Carter-Tofolli
Pearson-Vey-Williams
Brown-Stoll-Lewis
Richardson-Kopitar-Nolan

Kings aren't going to win with Kopitar playing the way he is in the top 6.

I feel like it's an arm problem. I saw Sutter putting Kopi out against Couture and Kopi backchecked him many times. The only goal he has is a tap in.

Watch this video from the beginning of the season before Kopitar injured his knee and see how he skates when he is 100%. There is no better proof he is hurt right now.

Kopitar needs to be put primarily in defensive roles until he can get surgery in the offseason.

There was a play in the 3rd period where Kopitar skated up the right side and was easily caught from behind by a Hawk back checker. I was skeptical about an injury, but after I saw that, I knew something is and has been wrong with his knee.
