Brown and Kopitar are 30 points behind last year. Think about that one.

That is why the kings are not getting past the hawks. Quick was able to steal a couple of series against weaker opponents, but not against the hawks.

Kopitar has a knee issue all season and looks like a groin injury from compensating for the knee injury. Brown looks healthy, just doesn't have his normal center. Brown looked good on the third line.

Sutter would never do this, but might as well see what you have on the farm:

Penner-Carter-Tofolli
Pearson-Vey-Williams
Brown-Stoll-Lewis
Richardson-Kopitar-Nolan

Kings aren't going to win with Kopitar playing the way he is in the top 6.

I picked the wrong weekend to stop injecting myself with Red Bull

Again, I think we need to put some of the young kids in to inject some life into this corpse of a team. It can't get any worse and you must be lying to yourself if you say it can. We need to try some kids in and give them more than 5 minutes of ice time.

We....might have lost in the 2nd round rather than win it? No? Ok....we might have lost in the 1st round instead of winning that?

That's Quick 100%

Quick "I am 1-6 on the road, I haven't done my job"...

Love that guy.....Love him....

Penner-Carter-Tofolli
Pearson-Vey-Williams
Brown-Stoll-Lewis
Richardson-Kopitar-Nolan

They are not bringing in a bunch of kids, they are going to go out with the veterans, and I think that is fair.

TT is an NHL player, he has proven he can contribute up here. Pearson and Vey will get a chance sometime soon, it won't be in this series.

as crazy as it sounds i have no issue with this. factor in the fact that MR is possibly getting shut down with a concussion and the likelihood of LA moving on is nil. i've been saying for months now that Kopi is playing despite having something significantly wrong. LA is not the better team in the WCF, i don't have a problem admitting that. they've got this far on grit, guts and heart.

King, Clifford and Fraser especially are getting ripped by CHI intentionally. the BH's are exploiting the hell out of their skating and mobility. i would rather see some of the kids in the line-up that are better skaters with some wheels and can close faster.

This post game by Quickie is depressing. I want to cry with him.

There's really only so much the guy can do. I feel sorry for him, he blames everything on himself even if the team doesn't score for him. He got them to the WCF but this is a really good team and he can't carry them alone anymore.

I think that's what upsets me most when guys are playing so badly. Quick wants this more than anyone and he'd never throw the team under the bus no matter how much they look like ****. I just want them to win for him, to show up, to play their game.

I agree. That is why I said Sutter wouldn't do it. With Kopitar's injury, he just isn't a top six forward right now. When Handzus is out skating Kopitar, you know there is something wrong.

When was the last Kopitar pp goal?

Tofolli will be a top six forward in the NHL. Dean is a monster in the second round.

Kopitar's last PP goal was March of 2012....He went the entire Cup run without a PP goal....If you can believe that.

For the love of God Sutter....Please break up Brown/Kopitar/Williams.

Put Kopitar with two scrubs so he knows he has to carry the line and SCORE....

Ray Ferraro suggested that if Richards returns to the lineup on Tuesday, the player he'd take out would be Dwight King. Judging from the results of tonight, there is only one line I would leave intact, and that's the new top line of Penner, Carter, and Toffoli.

Why not try the following:

Penner-Carter-Toffoli
Richardson-Kopitar-Brown
Clifford-Richards-Williams
Nolan/King/Fraser-Stoll-Lewis

Since Kopitar and Brown are playing line anchors, maybe the speed and chippy play of Brad Richardson could wake them up (I also like Richardson's motor of late). Richards had some chemistry with Clifford and I'd rather try Clifford with Richards and Williams over what other options Sutter has at leftwing.

Upset for Quick but that's about it. We've just hit a team on fire that's already a bad matchup for us and it's pretty much the perfect storm with that, our fatigue, and injuries.

There were certainly some positives to build on at home. I'm certainly more scared than being down 2-0 to STL, but I'm not worried until we lose either game 3 or 4.

This is the part where Quick shuts people the **** up and we wreck some shop. GKG!

Oh, also, more positives--I know it's the Hawks' strength, but they were opportunistic tonight. We hit at least two posts, and we were causing turnovers that would just bounce right back to an opposing stick. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of room to play better, and hard work creates your own luck; but I like that there was a pulse starting to show and we are gonna get some bounces over the next 5 (;)) games.

Looks like all the injuries that the Kings avoided last year are happining this playoffs. Multiple guys are clearly hurt, and besides Quick they all look gassed. No excuses though, because they've been playing ****** hockey. Its Terry Murray era hockey. I just don't see how the Hawks lose 4 out of 5.

Gotta admit... I wasn't even paying attention to the questions. Just his body language and demeanor. I see Kings players upset after loses, But, Quick looked check out and emotionally spent.

I'm glad he's coming home to play. It's where he belongs. :)

That's the worst part, he looks exhausted. This team better sack up and score some goals.

I understand and agree. But if the team keeps playing like this. They are out quick. The only reason I'd be for that line up is because almost no one is trying so it wouldn't hurt.

Didn't Quick skate to center ice last year when Mike Smith was going after some guys? One of these days, they're gonna get down the length of the ice.

Ye, he did it once vs I think Lehtonen aswell.

Really really really hoping Sutter moves Scuderi with Doughty. Regehr is getting badly exposed out there, so need to give him softer minutes. I'd like to see us go with a pure shutdown tandem of Scuderi-Doughty playing 30 mins/game vs these guys with all the dzone starts and tough assignments then use the rest of the defence in all the soft spots. Hopefully on Voynov or Martinez/Muzzin to contribute offensively with Doughty in shutdown mode

Our team is big and physical, but teams have been out skating us going back to the STL series. We're not going to change the entire makeup of our team. it's too well built for that. Would be nice to have a speedy winger or two added next season to change the pace up once in a awhile.
