I think the idea is to let Matthews go wild offensively and Larkin can worry about backchecking because USA needs goals quick

He hasn't scored but he has set up a ton of chances. Canada has 3 goals but its amazing how many golden chances they have blown.

Nah, he's in. Was playing some PK minutes early on and had a good clear or two at the very least.

This version of McDavid reminds me of the one that started the first 4 games of the season for Edmonton; he remains hesitant to take the puck and control the play. Once he realizes that he can lead here as well even though there are a bunch of other stars on the roster, he should get that extra gear back in his game.

Matthews looking real good in this game, impressive so far. The CCM line had some looks as well.

Otherwise Canada pretty much dominating most of the play.

Agreed and his linemates are getting stuff done so he doesn't need to worry too much.
