motivated or not...Theodore said that he had never in his life played as great as he did in the SEL playoffs...and Lundqvist still beat him with 4-1 in games. :innocent:

That is a bad argument. These guys are professional athletics, for you to say that dont motivate/take the SEL league serious is a slap in a face to all NHL goalies that played in it.

Well, then you got players (albeit not goalies) like Bryan McCabe and Tyler Arnason that truly wasn't very motivated. Both ended up on the bench. In Arnasons case, he found out that swedish pubs are more fun than swedish hockey, so he drank some beer and went home. McCabe couldn't take the fact that his coach benched him, so he went home, mumbling about that he'd played over 700 games in the NHL and never been benched in his life. As awful a skater McCabe was, maybe it was about time somebody had the guts to let him know that he wasn't doing his job.

But all in all, most of the NHL:ers displayed a good attitude and I don't think any of the goalies played that much under their capability. It certainly didn't look like it anyway.

Färjestad beated him 4-1.

you mean Frölunda...well yes he had great help from his team but they had 3 games of those where Djurgården really owned their ass and sprayed shots on Lundqvist.

Every year its the same thing..."The Swedish goalkeeper is going to shock the world" last year it was Lundqvist, before that Telqvist, now its Lundqvist again,but..."better than before".
I've given up on Swedish goaltending...its all hype!
Prediction: Lundqvist will make some great saves...Canada may even... ...trail in the hockey game,at some juncture. Eventually though...we will send too much pressure to the front of the net and Lundqvist will break...then...The Swedes will have yet another in an ever growing list of 'tenders who they can blame for there losses.
Lets be honest here...Lundqvist is NOT going to be the stroy of the tourney...that would be Brodeur's job.

But Färjestad did manage to score 4 goals on him the first final game :)

well he isn't superman or something. Every goalie has had a bad game now and then. That includes, Broduer, hasek and Roy. Heck Broduer, regarded as the best goalie let in 4 vs Latvia.

Swedish media or anyone else have never hyped Tellqvist. Tellqvist hasn't accomlished a jack.

anyways...we'll see how Lundqvist will manage to take on the Canadians...I personally think he'll not alow more than 2 or 3 goals.

I'm really excited for this game! There are so many Swedes on this board that have been hyping up their team this year so I can't wait to see just how good they are! Either way, should be a great game, I'll say 3-2 then an empty netter for Canada near the end, 4-2 final

 Go Canada Go

Lets be also a little less cocky and arrogant here. That attitude doesn't look good on anybody.

i don't expect lundqvist to get a shutout or something...the only way he doesn't get burned for a few goals or so is if sweden really plays great defense...or canada just plays uninspired. against guys like nash and thornton, when they're playing great, you're gonna give up some goals as a goalie unless your team really helps you out

i just want to see him play good and make all the saves he can

well while the swedes like their chances, the Canadian players have really hyped themselves as unbeatable ;)

MAke no misstake, Canada is the best team on paper, they SHOULD win today.

Not trying to slight Lundqvist,or Team Sweden...but it is not cocky to predict Brodeur will be the story of the tourney...its actually quite realistic.

well still swedish media has never really hyped tellqvist.

True, but he has won the Swedish Championship and been very close to a gold medal in the Worlds, only to be (barely) scored upon by Anson Carter to loose the OT. He was excellent in that tournament, I might add.

So you can hardly say that he has accomplished jack, because he has about the same merits Lundqvist has.
