If Nash and Thornton are stopped, Sweden will win. If Nash and Thornton are not neutralized by the Swedes, Canada will win.

Brodeur vs. Lundqvist... interesting goalie match-up...
Prediction: 2-2

Thats exactly what I was gonna say! very nice prediction...Two very good goalies. If someone will let in more than 2 goals it whould be Lundqvist though...because of Nash!

goalscorers will be: Alfredsson, Kahnberg, Nash, Morrison!

Not sure about this one. The CDNs have not blended as a team yet, especially in their own zone (Chris Phillips is no Scott Neidermeyer....). Plus, Canada usually has one dog game per tourney.

The Swedes play well as 5 man units and, with the guys playing all year, are likely much sharper and in better game shape.

I think both teams will keep a bit in their back pockets for later in the tourney. I'll call it a 4-2 Sweden win.

(man it hurts me to write that, but this will be our wake-up call...).

GO CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yo:

From what I have seen so far... Sweden beat Finland 5-1, Canada beat US. 3-1, US tied Finland 4-4.... If that's any kind of measuring stick, Sweden might well win this game. Then again...Sweden only beat Ukraine by a goal..

I don't know if any of that has relevance, but I think that if Lundqwist plays like he usually does, this will be a Sweden victory.

My prediction: Sweden 3 - Canada 2
If Brodeur plays the way he can Sweden won't get a goal.

I am not hyping him by saying that he is a very good goalkeeper. Because he is. And he HAS proven that he is, by outplaying goalies like Theodore, Turco and Gerber.

How is that godly :dunno:

They scored three goals on DiPietro, and it's not like he was on top of his game.

This is canada in form...

Yielding less than 3 goals against canada is suppose to be good.

Well, he's consistantly been the best keeper in Sweden for the last few years, even this year with Kiprusoff, Gerber, Nurminen, Manny Fernandez etc. That should be enough to prove he's a very good keeper without hyping him.

I've heard that fan590 is going to be broadcasting the game ... :jump: ... what's the game start time? (CST please!)

should be 3pm Cst it's 2pm ESt, so it's 3Cst :handclap:

Don't expect Canada to be perfect defensively...just like last game...we will need some big saves from Brodeur...both early and late in the game. Canada has shown that they will not ease up there hitting on account of the strict officiating...Sweden wants to build the confidence of their young goaltender who is getting alot of hype...Team Canada will drive hard to the net and try and alter shots to rattle Lundqvist's focus/comfort level.

These goalies didnt start the season in the SEL and cetainly didnt have the same motivation that they would have in the NHL, not to take any credit away from lundvisqt....

Didn't have motivation? I read the swedish papers daily and the canadian players were highly motivated to win. I mean some them had never won anything before. (stanley cup, olympics etc)

The goalies started in the playoffs the whole time.

You are wrong according to Theodore.

That is a bad argument. These guys are professional athletics, for you to say that dont motivate/take the SEL league serious is a slap in a face to all NHL goalies that played in it.
