3 of the 4 goals he gave up I would blame his defense more then him.

Yeah I know. Terrible marking. It´s just fun to see him play like an average goelie for once with those rebounds for example :)

Ok Sweden keep the pace on!

Nice to see that Sweden is using all their lines, and all are playing great! Thw canadian D have big problems with Alfredsson and the twins. The only won I'm missing is Weinhandl, he is invisible.

Lindström caused two goals by his slow defense, so it's good he is out. And Kenny Jönsson is playing his best game so far this tournament, great pairing with Norström.

2nd period was the best period so far in this tournament.

Sweden is looking really sharp now. The last half of second period was just one way. And the hit by Kronwall on Thornton shows the spirit they are having.

Hopefully we will see as good 3rd period that the second was.

And my fantasy team got points when Påhlsson was scoring and Hedström got an assist. :yo:

Lundqvist made some really great saves when he was needed, yes.

cool, that's about the most i could hope for...no way i expected him to shut out canada, not with their firepower...but make big saves when he could. sounds like some of those helped sweden turn it the other way and score too

From point of wiev of Finland this result is the worst possible. After this defeat Canada will come against Finland fired up and crush us like bugs. :help:

But anyway, good game!

Well if you disregard the fact that Kenny caused the 2-0 goal, yeah. Nice to know that we have our best PP defenseman resting this game, nothing wrong with Kronwall but Rhodin is a right-shooter and better on the PP than Magnus Johansson.

I saw the hit but I didn't notice who got hit...

EDIT. Aha, Thornton.

Why "Aha Thornton"? The announcer even said that Thornton risked a hit to give a pass to Nash.

Someone has got to say it. Broduer is having a terrible game.

The goals aren't awful, but he is not reading the play like he usually does, he's over committing to wrap around plays BIG TIME, he's fighting the puck, losing sight of it A LOT and kicking out rebounds he shouldn't. He has looked lost at times. He is lucky it's only 4-3.

The five hole goal was a nice shot, but that's the second time he has been exposed there. Knuble scored the exact same goal. That's the benefit of a butterfly goalie, those don't go in. Then he panics on a Kenny Jonsson wrap around for the second time in about five minutes and leaves Sammy P with a wide open net. That Zetterburg goal was a BAD rebound, someone should have had coverage on Z, but still, there was nothing forcing him to kick it out so gently and right up to a danger area. On a normal day he sends that screaming into the corner.

This game is bad. He's such a perfectionist, he'll be very upset about it.

I think there are a few goals left to be had. Neither goalie has had an impact so far.

It hasn´t been a very idealgame for both goalies. But Brodeur has more dangerous rebounds.

after 3-1 i thought sweden wouldn't come back, but they did, impressive.

To be fair, both defenses seem a bit dizzy tonight. The swedes look like decapitated chickens in their own zone and the canadians look a bit slow footed and in a bad mood..

It will be interesting to see which team shapes up the most in the third :)

I just think that

Why are you so happy? Aren't you American?

he's more so rooting for Lundqvist than rooting against Canada.

I'm of the same mind. I like Team Canada, but I like my goalie prospect alot more and would love to see him shine in this tourney.

Closing out the 3rd period of this game with 0 goals against (in the 3rd) is going to open alot of folks eyes to this kids ability.

I think that Lundqvist should start getting the same recognition that has been granted upon Kari Lehtonen and MA Fleury and fully believe that a good tourney against teams like Team Canada, especially against Team Canada will elevate him above those 2 goalies mentioned.

Go Lundy

I still think Canada can become a defensivley cohesive team...but it will take time...today has become a gut twister :help:

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe our lovely neighbors will keep the pressure on Canada during this last period and tire them out, so Finland won't be as squashed tomorrow... :help: :dunno:

Canadians still haven't dominated a game, so this score shouldn't really be surprising. Sweden is missing their 3 best forwards, and second best defensemen and they are playing smoothly. Canada isn't playing bad....they are bad. Playing a fourth straight bad game surely makes me think this way.

Jovanovski stinks. Play Phillips more, he can't do as bad as Jovo did in that period. Souray is good at creating offensive chances for both teams. Boyle can't control his stick. The defence was horrid in that period.
Jovanovski has looked pretty ugly, but so has the entire Canadian defense. Tough to blame Jovo for the go-ahead goal when Souray is standing there watching Zetterberg walk in and score.
I give kudos to Habscheid behind the bench. Most young coaches would feel pressured to bench Jovo, but the coach keeps bringing him back. He knows we're gonna need Jovo when the games actually mean something (Quarters, Semis, Final), and Jovo hasn't played all year. He needs more ice time to get better, not less. If he is still playing like crap come the playoffs, I guarantee Habscheid will not be as patient.
Jovo is the ultimate risk/reward dman. Right now, we can afford the risk.
